Sometimes I tell myself that I could make a living as a demotivational speaker, but then I talk myself out of even trying.

Trump says that the country is so dangerous that you can’t cross the street to shop without getting shot or raped. He must be thinking of crossing Fifth Avenue or shopping at Bergdorf Goodman.

A shoutout to @RepJackKimble, @DougJBalloon (New York Times PitchBot) and @3YearLetterman who are among the top people who make this site livable. They dance on the razor blade’s edge of wit and sarcasm and reveal the gullible rage addicts among us.

I’ve blocked the same ads from dozens of times from… Bots? Real people? Fakes? This insidious marketing scheme makes it impossible to block these ads, only the X accounts. I know it doesn’t come easy to you @elonmusk, but please, think of your users. Ban this practice.

Look at the simplicity and elegance of this logo, created by a Venn diagram of interaction and engagement. Perfect for the “town hall” of the internet. Dead now. I swear, this man is intent on being Shelley’s “Ozymandias” while he’s still alive to see his statue demolished.
Today we say goodbye to this great blue bird This logo was designed in 2012 by a team of three. @toddwaterbury, @angyche and myself, The logo was designed to be simple, balanced, and legible at very small sizes, almost like a lowercase "e", a 🧵

Age matters. We all remember how effectively Walter Mondale used the issue against 73 year old President Reagan in 1984 to carry Minnesota and DC. Reagan was held to 58% and 49 states. #Biden2024

Trump needs to quit wasting time with mediocre nicknames for Ron DeSantis. “Ron DeSanctimonious” is just a sad effort for a small minded, middle school bully like him. He needs to pull out the ultimate big gun insult and call him “Ron DeSantorum.” Voters will stay away in droves.

Imagine if the first sentence of your tweet met the second sentence of your tweet.
A Trump indictment would be a disgusting abuse of power. The DA should be put in jail.

The classic film, “A Face In The Crowd,” could never be made today. The big reveal at the end, where Andy Griffith reveals his true opinion about his audience, just wouldn’t change a thing. They’d tune in tomorrow, waiting to be spoon fed more lies.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence. It took time. #GenocidePreventionDay

Truth must matter, and liars should pay—and lose elections. Root for Dominion to win its lawsuit. And may those who back Trump’s Big Lie, undermining our democracy, pay billions.@60Minutes
“My kids still are not allowed to get any package from the front door until we verify that it’s actually from a trusted sender,” Dominion Voting Systems CEO John Poulos tells @andersoncooper. cbsn.ws/3SyjWrT

The "vote the bums out" thing was fine, I guess, in 1958 when the policy needle didn't swing all that far. Today it's completely anachronistic, supported by pretentious, nearsighted, low-information voters who refuse to accept the democracy-ending stakes of 2022 politics.
It's that old theory that if things are not going well (perception), "vote all incumbents out."

Donald Trump is as guilty as sin itself, testimony or no testimony. He is one of the great villains of American history, joined in the rogues gallery by his enablers as well as the cowards who refused to speak out against him. #January6thCommittee
