Not dissimilar to when the same tabloid papers attacked Obama for moving a bust of Churchill outside the Oval Office and preferring an MLK one instead. Which Boris Johnson attacked him for in 2016 as well. Same old hack playbook, always on repeat. theguardian.com/us-news/2016…

Outrage from the same Tories who stayed silent about a £17,800 fine for not properly declaring donations of £112,000 for some gold wallpaper.

Robert Gros made £27m profit selling useless gowns via the VIP PPE Lane, of course he never paid back a penny, he bought 2 mansions instead. RT and see if we can make him as famous as Michelle Mone.

Must watch first speech in parliament by Keir Starmer in which he tears into 14 years of Conservative failure and outlines how Labour will do better - long watch but refreshing Keir Starmer, "Whilst I respect the tone of leader of the opposition Rishi Sunak's contribution, I can't stop my mind wandering to 9 months ago when he was at this dispatch box" "His political hero Nigel Lawson said: to govern is to chose, and everyday serving the people of this country is a chance to make a difference for them" "Yet Mr Speaker, the last King's speech was the day the veil of Rishi Sunak's choices slipped.. And we all saw a party, his party, content to let our countries problems fester.. Content to push aside the national interest.. As they focused almost entirely on trying to save their own skins" "No more wedge issues.. No more gimmicks.. No more party political strategies masquerading as politics.. This is an agenda focused entirely on delivering for the people of this country.. Legislation for the national interest.. To make people better off.. Solve problems not exploit them" "With each day that passes, my government is finding new and unexpected marks of their corruption.. Scars of the last 14 years where politics was put above the national interest.. Decline deep in the marrow of our institutions" "We've seen it in our prisons.. In our rivers and seas.. It's even worse than we thought.. We see it in our councils, not even able to deliver services for children with special educational needs" "The work of change has begun"

📊 The Reform vote (11.5%) was smaller than nearby seats (eg. Mid Cheshire 19.2%, Congleton 16.4%). 🟰 The impact of Reform was similar to UKIP in Tatton in 2015 (10.8%). The Tory vote share stayed exactly the same when UKIP didn’t run in 2017 (58.6% in 2015 and 2017) (3/5)

Tatton is now a marginal constituency, and we will continue to hold our Conservative MP (who 61.6% of Tatton voters didn’t vote for) to account. (5/5)

🔸As predicted in the polls, the Liberal Democrats finished 4th, with a reduced vote share (8.9%) similar to their 2017 result (8.5%). 🧮 Only a 1.1% swing is needed to win Tatton for Labour next time. (4/5)

Where do these people go to in their heads when they’re not in front of a camera and without their fascistic funders whispering in their ear? How can Truss bear her own descent into madness, a kind of sponsored and very public collapse of dignity and sanity.

It is the honour of my life to have been appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer. Economic growth was the Labour Party’s mission. It is now a national mission. Let’s get to work.

Take it in. The first female chancellor. The first housing secretary who's actually lived in social housing. The first education secretary who was on free school meals. An energy secretary who actually believes in aggressively fighting climate change. Not a bad afternoon.

Well that was pretty wonderful all round. Tories out. Labour in. And I must admit a tear came into my eye seeing Carol Linforth give Keir a hug in Downing Street. She was there in 1997 and she is there is see it all over again. Beating heart of a Party that lost its way and has come back to where it needs to be for 🇬🇧 Going to be a long hard road but he was right when he said it feels like a weight has lifted from the country’s shoulders
