Apple has provided iPhone Duo-specific release notes for iOS 27.2:
This update provides enhancements to Siri AI with the ability to retain useful context from previous Siri interactions as well as draw from a wider range of personal context.
iPhone Duo gets support for Apple Pencil, as well as Edge Light to illuminate your face during video calls.
This update also introduces Suggestions in Messages that help you take quick actions in apps like Calendar and Reminders based on context from your conversation.
This release includes additional features, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone Duo.
After releasing other updates earlier and a slight delay Apple has iOS 27.2 finally rolling out to everyone! Beta users - there is also an update!
Someone finally figured out what the iPhone Duo hinge is for. It's a toaster.
Toastie is a $2.99 grilled cheese game where you fold the phone shut to toast and open it before the cheese burns. Two friends in Warsaw made it, and it's the most iBeer thing I've seen since 2008.

The iPhone Duo has no mute switch and no Action button, so Silent Mode lives in Control Center. Swipe down from the top right, tap the plus at the top left, Add a Control, Silent Mode. Then drag it somewhere your thumb can reach.
Check for the bell first, it might already be there.

A few iPhone Duo owners say the inner screen cracked along the hinge on day one. We can count four real reports so far, and Apple hasn't commented.
If your hinge suddenly feels stiff or pops, stop folding it, take photos, and get it to Apple inside the 14 day return window.

Keynote, Pages and Numbers got an AI assistant on iPhone and iPad, but only if you pay for Apple Creator Studio. That's $12.99 a month, US English only, beta, and not on the Mac yet.
If you already pay for Final Cut or Logic, try it. I wouldn't sign up just for this.

iPhone Duos start landing today. Apple says 50+ apps are already built for the big inner screen, including Netflix, Zoom, Slack and MLB, and the App Store now marks them "Made for iPhone Duo."

If your iPhone Duo arrives Friday, don't pick at the inner screen. Engadget found the matte layer on it can come off, and nothing during setup tells you to leave it alone. Apple charges $49 to replace it.

iPhone 18 Pro parts are in Apple's Self Service Repair store now. The battery is $129, the same price Apple charges to swap it for you.
After the $49 tool rental and the old battery credit, DIY saves $12.92. I'd book the Apple Store.

Apple Music drops the red in iOS 27.2. The icon is now a white tile with a black logo, black in Dark Mode, and the selected tab inside the app turns blue.
I'd have kept the red. That icon was the easiest thing to find on a home screen

If you're stuck on hold, tap More on the call screen, then Hold Assist, and put the phone down. Your iPhone pings you when a real person picks up and shows what they said before you got back.

The iOS 27.2 RC (24B115) still has no Health app redesign. Apple pulled it in beta 4 and says later this year, kind of a bummer if you were testing it.

If your battery has been tanking since iOS 27, check Settings > Battery before changing anything. An "Ongoing iOS Update" insight above the chart means the update is still finishing in the background.
I'd plug in overnight on Wi-Fi and give it a day or two.

Verizon is charging $10 a month for iPhone Handoff, the iOS 27 feature that moves one number between two iPhones. T-Mobile charges $5. AT&T isn't offering it at all.
Running a Duo and an 18 Pro on one Verizon number works out to $120 a year. And there's still no launch date, just "coming soon"
Silence Unknown Callers also silences the clinic calling you back.
The better setting: Settings > Apps > Phone > Screen Unknown Callers > Ask Reason for Calling.
Your iPhone asks who's calling and why, then rings you with the answer. Robocalls have nothing to say. Real people do. I'd switch.
