The story of the rapid rise and equally rapid fall of the ad-free Instagram @TheOGapp_ shows how Big Tech can put on united front to deal with outliers, and how ruthlessly it can retaliate 📈📉

This app sounds like Apollo for Reddit, except that not only has Apollo not been taken off the App Store, but it’s been shown in Apple events installed on devices.

The state of Instagram is abysmal, they are making changes that are degrading the user experience. If Instagram can't fix itself, let someone else do it.

This app was great. Now apple killed it siding with meta/instagram. Centralized app stores ain’t it.

How unfortunate, I don't like the centralization of power that these large companies demand to have. Why is it a problem that alternative apps use their APIs? If the original app is inaccessible for example, it would be to our benefit to have an accessible alternative developed.
