The reports of my reset button being lost are greatly exaggerated
Day 10/ Reset

Day 9/
We've rolled out optimizations to how we store state on disk for the chatgpt & codex desktop app that should reduce the amount stored on disk by 60%. Small ship but we've heard enough feedback about power users running out of disk space.

Day 7/
We have increased default context length for GPT-6.1 Sol to 500k when used through Codex & Work, up from 272k or an ~ 80% increase.
We will go higher in the future, but it helps reduce occurrence of compactions and with tasks that require keeping a lot of context and nuance over periods of time. It was carefully tested and is the new sweet spot for most of our users. You can still override it if you want to be higher our lower, with maximum context length of GPT-6.1 Sol of 1M.

The mystery is over. The first official Gemini 4 Argon tests show that it’s basically a stronger GPT-5.6 Sol, but it still loses to GPT-6.1 Sol in almost everything.
Honestly, I kind of expected this. I do want Google to succeed and win sometimes, just to put more pressure on OpenAI and Anthropic, but it was always going to be hard for Google to suddenly show up and beat Opus and Astra out of nowhere.
That didn’t happen.

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon!
It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback.
Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

Google just introduced Gemini 4 Argon.
This looks like the big frontier model of the Gemini 4 generation, built for long, difficult workflows rather than quick everyday prompts.
A few things immediately stand out:
→ Up to 1 MILLION output tokens in a single trajectory
→ Strong focus on real software engineering, legal, finance, research, and cybersecurity
→ Google says it reaches 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1 and currently leads several professional workflow benchmarks
→ Argon is already being used internally at Google for large code migrations, optimization work, research, and autonomous engineering tasks
→ It can autonomously find, validate, and patch software vulnerabilities
→ Introductory API pricing starts at $2/M input and $10/M output, with cached input heavily discounted
→ It will first roll out to trusted testers, cyber defenders, paid API users, and Google AI Ultra subscribers before expanding more broadly
This is probably the most interesting Gemini announcement in a while.
Now I want to see how it actually performs outside Google’s own benchmarks.

GPT-6.1 Sol is out!
Our colleague @kristel_tech asked GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6.1 Sol to "Build a cinematic, photorealistic rocket launch scene using Three.js"
GPT-6.1 Sol: $0.553 | 17 mins
GPT-6 Sol: $1.01 | 22 mins
Try it in JetBrains Air or Junie.

Announcing dots. Dots work 24/7 for you, learn from your feedback, have their own computer, browser and can be connected to over 4k apps in our ecosystem.
They’re powered by Astra our best model yet. Included in your Pro plan, without drawing down on any of your usage. You can even call a dot while it’s working.
We’re getting you started with your primary dot today and soon you’ll be able to create entire teams of them.

🚨 HOLY SHIT. GPT-Astra was really FUCKED up. 👀
All week people were saying Astra felt worse while Codex was eating their quota alive.
Yesterday Tibo said they hadn't changed Astra.
Now OpenAI has found multiple real issues hurting quality:
- Early stops.
- Old messages getting picked up.
- Skills interfering with the model.
- Badly configured engines.
Something was seriously fucked. 😭
OpenAI fixed the issues - and now we're getting another reset by midnight. 🔥
Astra chaos → investigated → fixed → RESET. 👀
Send the video to everyone you know showing how heinously Nowak was treated by the police in his dying moments and how the police cravenly kowtowed to his murderer.
Legacy mainstream media, same ones who wrote about George Floyd millions of times, are dead silent about Nowak.

The 999 call reveals the brothers claiming they’d been racially abused by a white guy. As Henry lay dying they lied about racism to try to get out of it. A damning indictment of modern Britain.
We have the 999 call that Henry Nowak’s killer’s brother made to police. I’ll play it now @GBNEWS

Can someone recompile Amped 3 for a PC Port?
It’s a game I was obsessed with as a kid, and would love to play it again without having to break out the old 360 just for that game.

Modders have created a tool that recompiles Xbox 360 games into native PC ports.
Sonic Unleashed has already received a native PC port that can run at 4K 120 FPS thanks to the same modders.
