But when it comes to negotiating fair conditions and pay, the company creating the poor conditions refuse to come to the table. The reason? Because many last mile drivers are employed through third party contractors, making it easier for Amazon and similar companies to skirt accountability. The Delivery Protection Act would end this exploitive loophole and require last mile delivery companies to directly employ their workers.
