“Being, in the traditional sense, absolute being, is something I don't have in me. I don't feel it. I feel my emptiness. But the Other always seems to have more of it than I have—unless, of course, the other surrenders to my desire, in which case being flees him very fast and I contaminate him with my nothingness.” — René Girard, CBC
“The object [of desire] is only a means of reaching the mediator. The desire is aimed at the mediator's being.” “All desire is a desire for being.” — René Girard

Straight out of George Orwell’s 1984 playbook. The spectre of perpetual war. A population kept permanently frightened. An endless state of emergency in which fear becomes the instrument of political control. How convenient for those who govern us.

An honest ‘student protester’ in France explains why he’s protesting. The question: “Why are you protesting?” He replies: “I don’t know. I’m just here to smash and destroy things.” But they just want a better education, you guys.

EMJ looks forward with hope and confidence to Europe's eventual return to its true form: the Catholic Church. "Remember the prodigal son, this is the prodigal daughter, the eldest daughter of the Church giving up on its revolutionary illusions and coming back to the form." "The form in Europe is the Catholic Church." "The form in Ireland, in Spain, in France is the Catholic Church. There would be no Europe without the Catholic Church!"

A Single Somali immigrant is estimated to cost Finland €951,000 over their lifetime. A native Finn contributes a net €3,400 per year. It takes 280 working Finnish people to offset a single Somali migrants arrival. #Finland #Somalimigrants #Benefitscammers #CloseTheBorders

“[Individuals] borrow their desires from the Other in a movement which is so fundamental and primitive that they completely confuse it with the will to be Oneself.” — René Girard, ‘Deceit, Desire, and the Novel,’ ch. 1
“Mimetic desire is when our choice is not determined by the object itself, as we normally believe, but by another person. We imitate the other person, and this is what ‘mimetic’ means.” — René Girard, Conversations with René Girard (ed. Cynthia L. Haven @chaven), ch. 9

South Belfast Shocking footage has emerged of older African teens violently assaulting very young local children: filming it, laughing, then posting the footage online. I believe this is a playground near Windsor Park. Locals have been saying for a while that, contrary to what many might think, there are “black areas” now in Belfast. I warned about this for years. Now it has come here. Our children are literally being beaten violently by them, but too many still have their heads in the sand. These Africans will not be protected by their age, just as their victims were not protected by theirs.

Climate alarmists are getting smarter. 10 years used to be the magical time limit for Arctic melting, CO2 limitation, crossing a randomly chosen temperature threshold, etc. Now they are setting time targets far enough out that no one can hold them accountable when they fail.
The world’s coral reef ecosystems almost all face a high risk of collapse in the next 50 years mostly due to warming oceans and heat waves, according to a global assessment. Sometimes dubbed “rainforests of the sea,” they have some of the world’s richest biodiversity. apnews.com/article/coral-ree…

In 1996 the Irish Times visited Ian Smith in Harare and were surprised that he had no bodyguards or guards and the front door to his house was open to everyone. he went into town without any protection, and was said that Black Zimbabweans would stop him to say they were better off under his government. Mugabe on the other hand never moved without lorries of armed men and armoured cars around him, and his protection kept growing even as the country fell apart. by 2006 inflation was over 1,000% and people were queuing for bread and fuel, yet his government spent US$60k on new sirens for his motorcade. when the zimbabwean media asked what all his security was costing, the president’s office said it was “not for public consumption.” I’ve always thought this says more about the two regimes than anything.

The top ten countries are heading towards extinction of their indigenous population.
Normalised ranking of the absolute migrant stock increases (2000–2024) by approximate 2026 population share. 1. Ireland 15.7% (+0.84M @ 5.36M) 2. Austria 15.4% (+1.4M @ 9.11M) 3. Switzerland 14.4% (+1.3M @ 9.01M) 4. Spain 14.2% (+6.8M @ 47.85M) 5. Norway 12.7% (+0.72M @ 5.65M) 6. Sweden 12.1% (+1.3M @ 10.70M) 7. Belgium 11.0% (+1.3M @ 11.77M) 8. UK 10.2% (+7.1M @ 69.93M) 9. Denmark 7.9% (+0.475M @ 6.02M) 10. Germany 7.7% (+6.4M @ 83.64M) 11. Netherlands 7.6% (+1.4M @ 18.45M) 12. Italy 7.5% (+4.4M @ 58.93M) 13. Finland 6.7% (+0.378M @ 5.62M) 14. Türkiye 6.6% (+5.8M @ 87.93M) 15. Portugal 4.6% (+0.476M @ 10.40M) 16. France 4.5% (+3.0M @ 66.75M) 17. Hungary 4.1% (+0.393M @ 9.59M) 18. Czechia 3.7% (+0.386M @ 10.53M) 19. Romania 2.8% (+0.521M @ 18.80M) 20. Poland 2.4% (+0.917M @ 37.84M) The original absolute ranking (from the @stats_feed post / matching UN DESA-derived figures) is re-ranked here by the size of each country’s increase as a percentage of its ~2026 total population. Populations are approximate mid/early-2026 figures drawn from consistent UN World Population Prospects 2024 (medium variant) elaborations (e.g., Worldometer and related sources). Increases are the rounded figures from the source post. Notes and caveats This is the 2000–2024 change in resident international migrant stock (UN DESA definition, which can include refugees, asylum seekers, and naturalised persons depending on national data) expressed as a share of recent total population. It is not the current migrant share of the population, nor the percentage growth of the migrant stock itself (the latter ranking, from the same data, is led by much smaller countries such as Malta).Visualcapitalist Populations are approximate; different sources (national statistical offices vs. UN projections) differ by small margins. Using 2024 or 2025 figures would shift the percentages only modestly. Absolute totals are the rounded values published in the source post (exact UN DESA figures are available in the underlying dataset and closely match). The top of the absolute ranking (UK, Spain, Germany) falls to mid-table once size is controlled for; several smaller countries rise because the same absolute numbers represent a larger relative change. Sources for the absolute increases: UN DESA International Migrant Stock 2024 (via the original post and contemporaneous analyses). Population denominators: UN World Population Prospects 2024 medium-variant elaborations for ~2026.

Pat Buchanan, 1999: “By moving NATO onto Russia’s front porch, we have scheduled a twenty-first century confrontation. … America will face a hellish dilemma: risk confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia determined to recreate its old sphere of influence, or renege on solemn commitments and see NATO collapse.” Therefore, he said, “Offering NATO memberships to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, as some urge, Ukraine is rashness bordering on madness.” Referring to maps the Clinton team must have ignored, Buchanan warned, “This would put the Russian base at Kaliningrad behind NATO lines and bring into a U.S.-led alliance three nations with huge Russian minorities.” Foreseeing future conflict, he observed that “Latvia is almost half Russian; eastern Ukraine, almost entirely Russian. America could neither defend nor liberate these nations without the risk of nuclear war.” Pat Buchanan, A Republic, Not an Empire: Reclaiming America’s Destiny (New York: Regnery, 1999), 17–18, 22. This is Camelot Castle, located in Tintagel, Cornwall. John Mappin, the hotel owner, was offered a staggering sum of money by the Home Office to house illegal migrants. However, he declined the offer. He explained that housing them would necessitate laying off most of his staff and would severely damage Tintagel’s village economy and culture. If you’re visiting Cornwall on holiday, consider staying there to show your support.

What Nietzsche said of Christianity, what was emphatically not true of Christianity, actually is true of Marxian materialism. It is a slave morality; a protest against particular authorities made by the spirit of slavery, and not by the spirit of liberty. For if it were really working from the love of freedom, it would certainly begin with free will.

Chesterton got there first.
“Now, of all silly sayings one of the silliest is the saying, ‘You can’t put the clock back.’ Of course, you can put the clock back and you often do... So in human life and in a nation’s life, if a mistake has been made we ought to put it right, if we can.” Enoch Powell
