I love this.
One of our staff members ordered lunch from DoorDash. The driver went to the wrong door and accidentally came into the cathedral when the office is next door. He had never been in a Catholic church. He was struck by the beauty. He made the delivery, went home and started researching Catholicism. He just started OCIA. Beauty attracts.

Confirming what you've seen:
🚨BREAKING! ABC, NBC, & CBS have spent the last month dedicating their evening news shows to pushing negative stories about Republicans three times as much as they did for Democrats. If this isn't electioneering, what is?

Different allegations from the same person dropped right before two elections. And the media has no problem playing right along. It would be funny if it weren't so evil.

I think Austin Ruse raises some profoundly important questions about Fr James Martin SJ in his latest Crisis Magazine article & I find myself agreeing with his criticism. For a start, I have been attending Mass for over five decades and cannot remember ever hearing a sermon devoted to condemning homosexuality or even mentioning it. Not one. Yet Martin repeatedly presents anecdotes suggesting that gay Catholics are being driven from the Church by relentless denunciations from the pulpit. I find these stories impossible to believe, particularly as representative of ordinary Catholic parish life. But there is a much more fundamental problem here. The Catholic Church does not teach that people experiencing same-sex attraction are somehow less worthy of love, dignity or belonging, quite the opposite. She teaches that every human being is made in the image and likeness of God, called to holiness, and capable of living a life of profound love and fulfilment. What she does not teach is that sexual expression is essential to human happiness and this distinction is absolutely essential. Our sexuality is not simply an appetite demanding satisfaction. It is an integral part of the human person, ordered towards a particular understanding of love, marriage and the gift of self. Chastity is not a punishment for those who cannot marry. It is a virtue to which every Christian is called, according to their state in life. I believe people experiencing same-sex attraction deserve sensitive, intelligent and compassionate pastoral care. But what sort of care would it be to suggest, even implicitly, that the Church's moral teaching is an obstacle to their flourishing? What is the point of bringing people into the Church if we are unwilling to introduce them to the fullness of what she believes? Ruse also raises the notorious Fiducia Supplicans photograph. The supposedly spontaneous blessing of two men, conveniently captured by a New York Times photographer, was an extraordinary piece of publicity. Whatever the precise arrangements, it was clearly a public media event, not merely a private pastoral encounter. What makes this still more concerning is that one of those men, Jason Steidl Jack, subsequently contributed a testimony included in the Synod's Study Group 9 report, presenting his same-sex marriage as an expression of God's grace. The study group's own commentary then appeared to move beyond simply listening to his experience towards a theological interpretation that sits uneasily with the Catechism. Surely we are entitled to ask where all this is going? Ruse describes Martin's influence as poisonous. That is strong language, certainly, but I understand his concern. Persistent ambiguity about moral doctrine, especially when amplified by a priest with Martin's extraordinary public profile, can have profoundly damaging consequences for souls. What troubles me most, however, is the institutional question. Fr Martin remains a prominent Catholic priest in good standing, while his ministry repeatedly raises serious questions about the relationship between pastoral accompaniment and fidelity to the Church's teaching. Where is the clear episcopal response? The Church desperately needs an intelligent, compassionate and theologically coherent ministry to Catholics experiencing same-sex attraction. We need to explain why the Christian understanding of sexuality is good news, why chastity is possible, and why a person's dignity and capacity for love cannot be reduced to sexual activity. I simply cannot see how Fr Martin's direction of travel accomplishes that. Authentic pastoral care must lead people towards Christ, not quietly suggest that the demands of discipleship are negotiable. crisismagazine.com/opinion/t…

💥NEW: CNN's Dana Bash claims Trump *BARELY* gets "PUSHBACK"🤦‍♂️ Bash asserted Trump only gets "a little bit" of resistance — and "not as much as any other living human being would." Wrong. The reverse is actually true. Trump gets bombarded with unprecedented "pushback": - Assassination attempts - Constant negative media coverage - Democrat and Fake News hoaxes - Impeachments - Indictments - Lawfare - Protests Just because Trump is the Teflon Don and has mastered The Art of the Comeback doesn't mean he doesn't face "pushback."

By this logic, deportations of illegal immigrants "deny them recognition as persons."
U.S. bishops are opposing proposed Census Bureau rule changes for the 2030 census, arguing that excluding noncitizens without lawful permanent resident status from the apportionment count would effectively deny them recognition as persons. ewtnnews.com/world/us/u-s-bi…

1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

I’ve heard Troy Jackson claim more times than I can count that billionaires are the worst people in America and that they have politicians bought and paid for. Yet he somehow forgot to remind Mainers that he has the backing of 28 billionaires. As Maine Senate President he failed to deliver results and can’t point to a single major piece of legislation his authored. Democrats within his own party declined to back most of his proposed bills out of committee because they regarded him as too extreme. Mainers seek a leader with a proven record of success. The only clear choice here is Senator Susan Collins.
Troy Jackson said no billionaire money. Troy Jackson said no corporate PAC money. But then, he took it all.

Hunter Biden cheated on his wife with countless prostitutes. Then he cheated on his wife with his dead brother's widow. Then he cheated on his dead brother's widow with her sister. Then he impregnated a stripper and denied the child was his during his next engagement. Now he’s bragging about his “traditional” values. That’s something only a Biden could do.
So not only did a Russian Oligarch connected to Putin pay for Don Jr.s wedding party- they went on a Mongolian honeymoon hunting trip together too. I chose a more traditional family values honeymoon in Hawaii with my wife. (08/26/19)

.@NoahCRothman highlights how The New York Times is engaged in expectations management for Democrats ahead of the election next week: "There has been a lot of expectations management in the press over the past week, The New York Times, they had this piece today saying, 'Hey, listen, Republicans have a ton of money. They have a big organizational apparatus at the state level. maybe you should you should really tether your expectations to reality.'" Conservatives and every common sense person should get out and vote Republican!

Hasan Piker claims "Medicare for All" isn't radical. Excuse me? It's taking every American's private insurance and putting it in the shredder. If you really want to live like Canada, where you say to people, I think you'd love to wait for 9 months to figure out whether or not you have cancer. And now in Canada, where they suggest you're costing too much money, may we recommend assisted suicide for you? No thanks.
