How long will this theatre go on? While Canadians can’t afford food and homes, Mr. Carney has distracted for months with big talk about “Associate Membership” with Europe. Now, Europe has rejected it. For the next two days, we will be distracted again from the cost-of-living crisis with wall-to-wall media coverage on yet another grand theatrical meeting to sign a bunch of meaningless declarations filled with big words (catalyze, anyone?) and promises to meet again to talk more. No one’s mortgage or grocery bill will come down. We already have a free trade deal with Europe, Mr. Carney. Get the 9 countries who have not ratified it to do so. And get EU countries to let our beef into the continent and cancel their planned carbon tariff on Canada. Otherwise stop wasting your time and our money. Both are running out.

Another day, another letter. No deadlines, no consequences, and workers are still wondering what happens next.
Industry Minister Melanie Joly has sent yet another letter to Stelco saying the company has not provided enough information to prove they are compliant with their 2024 deal with Ottawa, including employment undertakings after the layoffs in Hamilton. “The interim report repeatedly asserts compliance with the undertakings and, in several instances, provides only conclusory statements in support of that position. Assertions of compliance are not a substitute for the information and evidence necessary to establish compliance.” #cdnpoli

We cannot afford a repeat of Stellantis, where workers have been left waiting for months without action. The Liberals repeatedly threatened legal action but have yet to follow through. Hamilton steelworkers deserve a government that delivers action, not empty threats.

Today, the Bank of Canada has raised interest rates for the first time in 3 years, piling more pressure on families already struggling to make ends meet. Inflation, persistently high unemployment and weak economic growth are all evidence the government’s economic plan is not working.

The Liberal tanker ban blocks Canadian oil from reaching overseas markets and leaves Canada more dependent on the United States. We are calling on the Liberals to support Bill C-264, open new markets for Canadian energy and put Canadian workers first.

At a time when violent offenders are breaking into homes, threatening families and putting lives at risk, Canadians deserve to feel safe in their own homes.  Conservatives are taking concrete steps to keep Canadians safe in their homes and neighbourhoods, restore accountability and lock up violent repeat offenders through the Safe at Home Act. cbc.ca/news/canada/london/ox…

The fastest-growing item in Carney’s budget is not health, military or seniors’ benefits. It is debt interest. This year, interest on the national debt will cost the equivalent of nearly $6,000 for a Canadian family of four. Conservatives are calling on Mark Carney to appear before the Finance Committee to present his plan to save Canadians money by cutting deficit spending, debt interest, and taxes.

Strathcona Resources is proposing to ship up to 250,000 barrels of Canadian oil a day by rail to Prince Rupert and then on to overseas markets. Only one thing stands in the way: Mark Carney's tanker ban. Let’s create more 🇨🇦 jobs, get better prices for our resources, and be less dependent on the U.S. by voting YES to Conservative MP @DMcKenzieCPC's bill on Wednesday to scrap the tanker ban and put Canada first.

Stopped by Southgate Centre and picked up some beard care products from Brad Milton of Ironwood & Ash. Great to support a veteran-owned, family-run Alberta business built on craftsmanship, service and hard work. Check them out here: ironwoodandash.com/

Congratulations to @LDoerkson and the @Conservative_BC on a strong majority mandate to bring common sense Conservative principles to British Columbia. I look forward to working together to save Canadians money and jobs, lock up criminals, reduce immigration, and put Canada first.

I condemn the horrific terrorist attack on the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George in Karak, Jordan. Opening fire on families mourning a loved one is an act of profound evil. We stand with Jordan’s Christian community and pray for the victims and their relatives. No one should have to fear for their life in a house of God. Memory eternal.

Upwards of 500 jobs are at stake and another strongly worded letter will not help Stelco workers put food on the table. It is time for the Liberal government to take real action to protect our steel industry and workers. Our Conservative Steel Plan will protect Canadian steel jobs, enforce the promises made to Stelco workers and build more of what Canada needs right here at home. globalnews.ca/news/12113124/…

Small businesses are the heart of our communities and the engine of Canada's economy. This Small Business Week, let's celebrate and support the hard-working Canadians who take risks, create jobs, and build something of their own. Conservatives will fight to make this a country where that entrepreneurial spirit is rewarded with a brighter future and an affordable life.

When farmers, truckers and businesses face rising fuel costs, Canadian families pay the price at the grocery store. Nearly three-quarters of food banks report that rising fuel prices have had a moderate or significant impact on demand.

Every Canadian deserves to feel safe in their own home. My Bill C-293, the Safe at Home Act, would make violent home invasion a distinct criminal offence, with tougher penalties including a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, a maximum life sentence, and reverse-onus bail. It’s time our laws recognize the severity of these crimes and hold violent offenders accountable.

Bad Liberal economic policies have real consequences for Canadians. Food Banks Canada recorded 2.35 million visits in a single month, the highest number ever recorded, with children making up one-third of food bank clients. Canadians are working, but their paycheques are not keeping up with the cost of everyday life.

BREAKING: Food Banks Canada reports food bank visits have hit another record high under Mark Carney. Up 9% in one year. After 11 years of Liberals, Canadians can't afford to put food on the table. Let’s take all taxes off food to save you money and make groceries affordable: conservative.ca/cpc/make-foo…
