We thank the ICRC and Somali Red Crescent teams for their facilitation of the release of the two detainees by SSC-Khaatumo.
We’re also grateful for the SSC-Khaatumo leadership’s decision to release some critically wounded PoWs out of goodwill and on humanitarian grounds.
The SSC-Khaatumo leadership has made number of important decisions, including blocking the SSC-Khaatumo Army to not proceed beyond Guumeys, treating all PoWs with their humanly given rights , as well as the release of the two detainees, all show the character of their leadership style and their good governance.
