People miss the two impacts on labour hours that result from the £100k income tax cliff
1) is, as is well understood, working fewer hours where possible e.g., part time work in professions like healthcare, some consulting/ accounting/ civil service

In 2020 I entered a summer shredding contest & dropped 25lbs of fat in 12 weeks.
Here are 11 SIMPLE things I did to make fat loss as smooth as possible:
1. Eat a lot of potatoes

My red arrow week is currently GW34.
It’ll still be 11 v 11 though, team will be similar to Free Hit teams and I might still Bench Boost in it.
GW32 - Should be green arrow as WC32 are trash ✅
GW33 - 11 of the best doublers on Free Hit. Hopefully a green arrow ✅
GW35 - Wildcard. Easy ✅
GW36 - TC Haaland. Easy green arrow ✅
GW37 - My Wildcard will be focused on making 37 my optimal week. Plus possible BB. ✅
GW38 - Always fly last day of the season ✅

Still can’t believe that England are going to the World Cup without arguably their best passer. Watching fringe candidates labour at Wembley highlights even more the nonsense of Alexander-Arnold’s omission. He’s a game-changing option from the bench. If you have pace out wide in Gordon/Rashford and Saka/Madueke/Bowen and want to launch a quick counter, TAA can deliver. If England are in a shoutout, he can deliver. Risk/reward. #ENG

Peri-workout nutrition for the early morning lifter:
1. If you train early in the morning, your nutrition window is completely different than afternoon lifters.
You wake up with:
•Low liver glycogen (regulates blood glucose).
•High cortisol (catabolic, stress response)
•Low blood glucose stability (CNS output)
•High adrenaline (sympathetic tone)
Ignoring this leaves performance on the table.

Is this meal plan fully “optimized” in a theoretical sense?
NO
But it works great for me from an adherence standpoint and it’s still providing me plenty of nutrients/energy
A couple notes:
- this is a rough outline of what I will do…I will vary portions and change things up as I see fit
- I’ll often add fruit / honey / bread to Meal 1 on training days and/or overhaul Wednesday to make it another high day (in advance of my Upper B session)
-When I post a cheesesteak instead of pizza & wings in 3 weeks, don’t say “you didn’t have that in your meal plan!”
- I repeat: I WILL NOT RIGIDLY ADHERE TO THIS (it’s just a framework)
- Don’t take my eating out as a license for you to eat out
- I’ve successfully managed my bodyweight for 15 years…you may need to take a MUCH different approach
- Changes I make will likely result in calories being closer to 3100-3200 which is just above maintenance…I will be data driven & adjust in accordance with feedback from data/energy demands
- I supplement with Psyllium husk year round
- Don’t ask me “no steak???” because as you can see, the answer is NO (mostly just don’t feel like buying it & cooking it)
- Training days are usually Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri (this hasn’t been the case lately b/c of work demands so I’ve been moving things around some)
As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been experimenting with different foods like Burgers, Spaghetti Squash + Chicken Thighs, Hot Honey Chicken Sliders, etc.
When I do that, I just sub one of the base “boring meals” and make the cals/macros work
Do what you will with this information 🤝
Replying to @DeanTTraining
How do you eat this and stay in a calorie deficit the rest of the day though? Do you just not eat again? Or is the rest of the day yogurt only?
Love your content. A sample 7-day diet plan would be super helpful to see. What do you eat on workout days vs rest days, etc.

I have a friend who started having unexplained weight gain and infertility issues in her 30s.
Up until that point, she had always been fit and active but she didn't eat well.
When she began putting on weight, she started to try many different diets and exercise programs. The weight gain continued.
She watched her body go from being fit and thin to having extra weight and fat, especially around the belly.
She saw her doctor who did a few basic lab tests and diagnosed her with insulin resistance.
She changed her diet, exercised consistently, and the weight gained slowed, but the insulin resistance persisted.
For 15 years, she ate a lower-carb low-fat diet, getting less than 100g of carbs per day. She ate leaner meats & fish, she got plenty of fresh vegetables, used almond flour to make baked goods, and bought "low-carb" & "keto" labeled food.
It stopped the weight gain, but no matter what she did, she couldn't lose the weight.
As she entered her 50s, she started having menopausal symptoms.
She began seeing a different doctor who not only diagnosed her with perimenopause, but also said he believed her 15+ year battle with insulin resistance and infertility was due to PCOS.
She ended up having a total hysterectomy. The menopausal symptoms, like hot flashes, continued and she began taking estradiol.
She continued to exercise but still couldn't lose the weight.
A little over a year and a half ago, she met a lady who had seen amazing health benefits with a carnivore way of eating.
She was weary because she was always told she needed to keep her fat and cholesterol low, and that she needed plenty of fiber.
But she was desperate and decided to give carnivore a try for 90 days.
She began seeing results almost immediately.
She started losing some weight and inches. Her body fat % started to decrease, and her muscle mass started to increase.
Her fasting blood glucose dropped and she stopped taking her metformin.
She had a lot more energy, she was sleeping better, and her hormones seemed to stabilize. She was no longer having hot flashes and stopped taking her estradiol.
She decided to continue with carnivore.
She lost more weight and fat. Her body became muscular and fit. But she still had some stubborn extra weight around the belly.
After about one year, her insulin resistance had almost completely reversed but her metabolic health was still not where she had hoped it to be.
Her doctor was at a loss.
She decided to see a holistic NP who specializes in gut microbiome and toxicity issues.
The NP ordered many tests that her regular doctor had never even done: mold, metals, microbiome issues, stool, parasites, etc.
She found that not only did she have mold toxicity from living in a humid/wet area most of her life, but her gut microbiome was also not very healthy from years of undiagnosed PCOS.
The NP told her that the best thing to do to heal her microbiome was to continue with carnivore and add a little bit of fiber once in a while.
My friend is on the path to healing and she feels better than she's felt in almost 20 years.

There’s an endless amount of information out there. Most is noise.

A single glass of wine at a holiday party shuts down fat metabolism on the spot... your liver won’t burn fat again until the alcohol is gone.
Pair that with processed food + bad sleep… and you get the “holiday 5 lbs.”

At 208 pounds and running on 6 hours of sleep, I was a terrible father.
Not because I didn't love my kids.
Because I had nothing LEFT for them.
By dinner, I was done. Exhausted. Irritable. Just trying to survive until bedtime.
My kids would ask me to play. I'd say "not now."
They'd be loud at dinner. I'd snap over nothing.
They'd have a meltdown. I'd lose my patience.
I blamed them. "Why can't you just behave?"
But the problem wasn't them. It was me.
I was out of shape, sleep-deprived, and running on fumes.
Then I made a decision:
I started lifting 3x/week.
I prioritized 7+ hours of sleep.
I ate 200g protein daily.
Within 30 days, everything changed.
Not because my kids suddenly behaved better.
Because I had the capacity to handle them.
More patience. More energy. More presence.
Here's what nobody tells you about fatherhood:
**Your physical state directly impacts your emotional capacity.**
When you're:
• Out of shape
• Sleep-deprived
• Eating garbage
• Never moving your body
You don't have the reserves to be the dad you want to be.
It's not about vanity (maybe a little). It's about capacity.
A fit, well-rested dad has:
✓ 10x more patience
✓ Energy to actually engage
✓ Emotional bandwidth for chaos
✓ The strength to lead
An exhausted, out-of-shape dad is:
✗ Quick to anger
✗ Always "too tired"
✗ Just surviving
✗ Barely making it
I've been both.
The difference is night and day.
So stop making excuses about being "too busy."
Your kids don't need you to be perfect.
They need you to have enough in the tank to show up.
Either make the changes or admit you've given up.
There's no third option.

"I'll start working out January 1st"
Translation: "I'm going to eat like garbage for 30 days, gain 10 lbs, then try to summon motivation on the same day as 50 million other people who will quit by January 20th"
Genius plan.
Here's a better one: START NOW.
What starting today looks like:
You're not "ruining the holidays."
You're just being an adult who doesn't use a calendar date as an excuse to quit on yourself.
Work out 3x per week through December
Hit your protein goal MOST days (not every day, just most)
Enjoy Christmas dinner without eating like it's your last meal
Have a couple drinks, not a bottle every night
Walk after dinner instead of collapsing on the couch
That's it. Nothing extreme. Just not STOPPING for an entire month.
By January 1st you'll have:
12+ workouts under your belt
Maintained or even LOST weight while everyone else gained
Momentum that makes January feel easy
Proof to yourself that you're serious this time
If you wait until January 1st:
You'll be starting from scratch (again)
Fighting holiday weight gain
Competing with a gym that's suddenly packed with people who will quit in 2 weeks
Trying to build a habit with zero foundation
The uncomfortable truth:
If you can't start now, you won't stick with it in January either.
You'll have a new excuse then too.
"It's too cold" "Work is crazy"
"The kids are sick" "I'll start after this stressful period"
There will ALWAYS be a reason to wait.
Serious people start now.
Excuse-makers start "Monday" (or January 1st, or after vacation, or when things calm down).
Stop waiting for permission from a calendar.
December 1st is just as good as January 1st.
Actually, it's better—because you'll have 30 days of momentum when everyone else is still making excuses.
Who's in?
