Having seen the French TV footage, Kasia Niewiadoma was right. 🤷‍♂️ FDJ-Suez' strategy was clearly for Vollering (P2) and Gery (P1) to switch positions before the corner, to have Gery slow down afterwards to open up a gap in front of her, forcing Niewiadoma to pass Gery first, and then close the gap. Problem is, Gery lost too much speed before the corner, and Niewiadoma passes Gery mid-corner, after which Gery tries to make sure Niewiadoma can't pass, by running wide, forcing Niewiadoma to brake and relaunch on the other side. It's like when a lead-out finishes their work, then tries to obstruct opposing sprinters. In my opinion, this is dirty. Vollering would also crash out if she was in Kasia's position. #TDFF2026
