We have the 8th most big chances in the league.
We’ve missed 74% of them.
Astonishing

It’s the standard of goals we’re conceding…
It’s just so, so poor.
Individual errors, lack of effort to make up for a mistake, sloppy in possession, silly red cards.
We’ve gone from one of the best drilled and most organised defences in the league, that was the bedrock of a side that took points off 18 of 19 opponents last year, to one of the worst.

Six goals from individual errors this season in the Premier League…

Replying to @JamesCopley_
How many goals this season is our own team going to assist the opposition it’s every week feels like

Not for the first time this season, Granit Xhaka has been a passenger off the ball this afternoon.
He’s far from the only one at fault, but his performance has been well below the standard you’d expect from Sunderland’s captain.

Le Bris and Sunderland might be 20th as it stands but they reduce games to fine margins and excel in all game-states as they press man-to-man high, defend zonally low, can build against a zonal press or play direct against a man-to-man press, and attack well in a 3-1-6 with decent quality + profile balance across the thirds.
Combine that with the support of the fans at the Stadium of Light and I don’t expect them to be relegated this season.
I actually back them to go far in Europe and to stay up comfortably.
They have a talented and big squad, even if the summer window just gone was a little underwhelming.

😂 Two Sunderland fans in the Lech Poznań end. Absolute madmen. Anyone know who they are?

Lost phone found in Poznan. Obviously a Sunderland fan. We’ve got it, please let us know.

And therein lies the enormous problem of a sporting league trying to be both a competition organiser and a nakedly commercial enterprise
And letting its member clubs determine all of the rules
Excl: execs from 2 top clubs tell me they’d be “staggered if there were 15 clubs ready to expel #mcfc Premier League, calling it “commercial suicide”. Expulsion one possible punishment that independent commission could consider, but if clubs voted against such a decision - what, if any, punishment would City get?

Oh ye sound, its December 6th & freezing, we’ve just gone 1-0 up in the 8th min at home to Preston and Steve 5 rows back has launched his fresh pint all over me & my 2 young kids
🚨🚨| JUST IN: UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham wants to overturn the 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐀𝐍 in football stands, calling it "wrong" — fans have been unable to drink in seats since 1985. 🍺🏴
The UK Football Policing Unit has requested a meeting with Burnham to discuss the "challenges" any change would bring to policing and fan safety.

Here we throw. An England fan on a group WhatsApp with 200 home-and-away members reports that most of those polled are against the PM’s idea of a trial allowing fans to be able to drink alcohol in the stands. “Most don’t want that Boxpark culture of beers being thrown in the air when there is a goal, those few idiots throwing up, or having people shuffle past them every min to go get their pint and come back. The reasons for the ban in the first place (the terrace culture of decades ago) may have gone, but that doesn’t mean that lifting it will all go smoothly.”

It’s funny that this is presumably meant to appeal to football fans, yet every matchgoing fan I’ve seen is against it because they don’t fancy getting drenched by some bloke launching his pint for a TikTok.
