Mina Shirakawa was booed the first time she stepped into Arena Mรฉxico. On Friday night, she left it with another victory.
At CMLLโs Dรญa de Muertos celebration on 30 October, the AEW star appeared in skull-inspired face paint, evoking the calaveras and La Catrina so closely tied to the Day of the Dead. The tradition, observed around 1 and 2 November, honours deceased loved ones and celebrates life as much as it acknowledges death.
For Shirakawa, it was another chance to connect with a crowd that hadnโt always welcomed her.
โThe first time I was at Arena Mรฉxico (2025), I was booed, and itโs all because Mexican fans love their women wrestlers," she told Excรฉlsior.
"Step by step, over the occasions Iโve been at Arena Mรฉxico, everything changed and people supported me; it made me feel very happy that they shouted my name, and that helped me immensely during my matches.โ
In the end, submission wrestling decided it. Shirakawa forced India Sioux to give up with a figure-four leglock.
