PROTESTING WORKS!
Around the world, we’ve seen how protesting gives us power to make our leaders listen to us and challenge their decisions that shape our everyday lives.
In the UK, the right to protest is under threat. Watch our new documentary at the link below 👀

Having worked in Yugoslavia as a journalist in the 90s, this is astonishing to see.
What is happening in Serbia right now gives hope that even in the most controlled regimes there are people whose hope and ambition can lead them to achieve extraordinary things.
📺 “We reported events one-sidedly for years”: Serbian TV apologizes to viewers after Vučić's party loses the election
Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) opened its news broadcast with footage of celebrations following the Student List's election victory — scenes it had failed to show the previous evening.
“For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said.
Following the controversy, RTV's acting editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned.
A similar incident occurred in Hungary, where state television also apologized to viewers after Viktor Orbán's election defeat.

There are stark inequalities in access to green space which should urgently be addressed. Government promised legislation but where is it? We need new legal mechanisms so local communities can take over unused public land for food growing & pocket parks inews.co.uk/news/the-towns-w…

Planting a tree means nothing if it dies a week later.
Local authority tree planting is down 45%, and the trees we do plant are heavily imported, bringing biosecurity risks with them.

Code: y-Axis Alert!
Yesterday's Nino 3.4 preliminary sea-surface temperature anomaly set a new record high, at 3.48°C above the 1991-2020 baseline. To clearly show this anomaly, the y-axis max was raised to 4.0°C.
Attention historians: this is gobsmackingly bananas.

What a relief! Lula’s unexpected victory gives hope for the Amazon. He has dramatically cut felling, while Bolsonaro’s plans would doubtless have taken it past its tipping point, ensuring total eventual destruction with huge global consequences.

Against all odds, @LulaOficial has shown that socialism can triumph over the barbarism of Bolsonaro and the global far right.

Reminder: floods and droughts are getting worse globally. This is the pattern: you get severe drought and then you get huge amounts of rain dumped in intense bursts. This is all going to get worse and worse and worse. This is the climate change we’ve been ignoring for decades.
