Yesterday, Dr. Zineb Hayatou carried an amazing defense of her work on limb embodiment in the mouse model! Congratulations, and many thanks to jury:
F. de Vignemont (philosophy),
A. François (physiology of touch),
N. George (physiology of perception),
N. Jarrassé (robotics).
🧠🖥️Are you a neuroscientist/engineer? Dreaming of brain-machine interface (BMI)?
▶️We have a PhD position open!
emploi.cnrs.fr/Offres/Doctor…
▶️Take advantage of our unique imaging and engineering methods to discover optimal BMI feedback strategies!
Celebrating the arrival of summer with a joint Picnic @NeuroPSI_saclay @NeuroSpin_91 last Friday. Congratulations to Dan and Sabir for winning the Pétanque Tournament!
Congratulations to our team head Daniel Shulz, who was awarded the Nature Award for Mentoring in Science!
This recognizes a life of dedication to the success of junior scientists and to the development of the neuroscience community in France and beyond.
C'est la rentrée !
From whisker stimulations to forelimb prosthesis, we are happy to share the excitement of science during lunch at the @NeuroPSI_saclay cafeteria!
Very impressive (and massive!) data from macaque visual areas yesterday at IBRO, by Tirin Moore @Stanford. Now looking forward to the Motor control symposium with Gregorio Galiñanes, @vegostengel and Valeria Della Maggiore this afternoon!
For the first day of IBRO, Isabelle Férézou from the lab gave an update on mesoscale cortical imaging in freely behaving mice in a great symposium organized by @MMaravall and @abhii_mit.
Congratulations for fantastic talks by Anton Dogadov and Alexandre Tolboom @IASATorg in Marseille. The breathtaking views across the mediterranean city are the perfect backdrop to share our research!
Our fantastic team members, enjoying the @NeuroPSI_saclay opening days party!

In the team, we are fascinated by mesoscale cortical dynamics. To explore them in the freely moving mouse, we have developed an active optical rotary joint to image neuronal dynamics in free-moving animals.
Congratulations to PhD student Henri Lassagne for a great defense and impressive work on closed-loop sensorimotor BMI learning in the mouse! & Thank you to jury members Gisella Vetere @InAnOther, Thomas Brochier, Sami El Boustani @elboustanilab, Sylvain Crochet, Brice Bathellier!
We are now moving one step further show in the Journal of Neural Engineering @IOPPublishing that mice can learn to exploit this feedback in a closed-loop, invasive brain-machine interface that controls the simulation of a 🦾 neuroprosthesis 🦾
Congratulations to Henri Lassagne, PhD student in the team, for securing @FRM_officiel research money from the "Handicap & Société par Intégrance" fund! @vegostengel, who heads his PhD, was present at the ceremony.
Interested in joining our multidisciplinary Institute? In moving into a brand-new high-tech magnificent building?
NeuroPSI is recruiting!!!
At @NeuroPSI_saclay we are looking for our new wave of group leaders!
Our new call seeks to recruit several talented group leaders at junior or mid-career level.

👉Apply by December the 5th!
Congratulations to Timothé Jost-Mousseau who successfully defended his PhD yesterday!!! It was great to host the jury at NeuroPSI, with Ingrid Bureau, Cathie Ventalon, Fred Chavane, @JEpszteinLab and zugarolab.net - Bravo Timothé !
Finally, Fan Yang will present a newly developed task which explores tactile prediction using closed-loop high-speed imaging of the active whisker system.
👉 Monday afternoon session, Poster board S04-528
Max Chalabi-Prat will show work exploring sensorimotor anticipation of obstacles, using high-speed imaging of the whiskerpad, and fibered VSD imaging, in freely behaving mice.
👉 Monday afternoon session, Poster board S04-520
The Monday afternoon session will be also intense, starting with Henri Lassagne, who will present work showing that the topographical continuity of cortical optogenetic stimulations can have a major impact on learning.
