[TAXI VIOLENCE TASK TEAMS] The @SAPoliceService established Taxi Violence Task Teams and Taxi Violence Investigation Units, across all provinces, which specialises in all taxi related crimes. Law enforcement agencies are constitutionally mandated to prevent and combat crime. They must also maintain public order, uphold and enforce the law and protect and secure citizens of the Republic of South Africa. Motorists victimized by taxi associations patrollers, are urged to lay criminal charges for any act(s) of criminality (financial extortion, theft of car keys, assault, intimidation, etc) Taxi industry stakeholder meeting will also be convened in an effort to find lasting solutions to ongoing acts of violence and intimidation between taxi associations patrollers and fellow motorists, including rival taxi associations. #ReportCrime #FightAgainstExtortion
