Well the VRC Derby distance knockers have certainly got a lot to jump up and down about this week. Can't recall a more uninspiring VRC Derby field in my time in Racing. Think the tradionalists will be seeing the last year the race is run at 2500m.

Yes. Especially with pattern heat, particularly on handicaps. This is nothing to do with the two races you mentioned, but if they’re gonna persist with this paying-to-last in the Melb Cup they should also have discretionary power to evict no-hopers from the race.

Well done to Dylan Dean with a great ride on Kahhof for his boss John Moloney @moloney_racing. He now qualifies for Oaks Day Final and so does Wetumpka. Flying Mikki already in the final was good late when got some confidence in clean going. Shaping as a cracking race!
