BREAKING: Uber says workers make $37 an hour. That's a blatant lie. We found Denver workers for Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash merely make $5.49 after expenses. That's 35% of the city minimum wage ($15.87) &officially puts workers below the poverty line. theguardian.com/us-news/2022…

What a scam! @netflix automatically signed me up for its service without my permission and the charged my card for a month when I canceled (which I did within minutes of getting a Netflix email telling me I had *subscribed.*) Note to Netflix: This is illegal.

If I had my own dark money PAC, I would add Governor Hogan's visage to his fun graphic about these projects as, at best, his own budget and transportation plan show he cares about 2/3 of 1 project and 1/3 of one other project, leaving 13 projects out to dry. /20
Employers' latest scam: Forcing workers to pay for tens of thousands of dollars in training if they leave the job even before 3 yrs in some cases--while many find excuses for firing the *trainees* and pocketing the cash. forbes.com/sites/elenabotell…

The Senate filibuster has to go as a relic of a bygone era. Worldwide, about 41 national legislatures have some supermajority rules but nearly all are only used for constitutional amendments, not routine legislation (like establishing the Jan 6 commission) theguardian.com/commentisfre…
The Electoral Integrity Project uses expert surveys to evaluate the quality of national elections around the world since 2012 & found US elections score next to last among the world’s liberal democracies, ranking about 45th of 166 nations worldwide. theguardian.com/commentisfre…
The US economy pre-pandemic was dependent on an abundance of low-wage, low-hours jobs--a combo that yielded low prices for the comfortably middle-class & wealthy & low labor costs for bosses, but spectacularly low incomes for tens of millions of workers nytimes.com/2021/06/01/opini…

Want workers? Provide decent pay: 50%+ of restaurant workers surveyed are considering leaving their jobs, w/ 76% citing low wages/tips. Most respondents say having a “full, stable, livable wage” would help keep them in the industry. @onefairwage @rocunited dcist.com/story/21/05/25/d-c…
How low can you go? Ask Koch, who's been pushing to end eviction moratoriums during #COVID19 while investing big bucks in distressed housing. @davidsirota @KochFreeZone @UnKochCampus amp.theguardian.com/ous-news…
News of Central America rarely appears in US media. Central Americans fleeing the carnage are only seen as embodying the border crisis w/ little regard as to what sent them north. Rarely acknowledged is the past & current role of the US in Central America. washingtonpost.com/outlook/2…
Because we have never (properly) called the South's attack on the US treason. Without a Truth and Reconciliation Commission or its equivalent to address the Civil War, it will continuously re-emerge in various forms in a perpetually bifurcated nation. theguardian.com/us-news/2021…
