I wouldn't have minded seeing the priannas in a tank. I think it's usually pretty busy, I don't think I have ever been when it's been quiet

Beautiful place and glad it's had so much restoration. Me and my wife were recently talking to one of the volunteers who was telling us how the church roof had been repaired by a specialist company to spec as it would have been hundreds of years back. Costly stuff.

Ahh I have been in there a few times with a guy I look after. (I'm a carer) And I know it gets busy with kids. As long as your 7 year old enjoyed it

Saw (and heard!!) my first Geordie parakeets in Churchill Playing Fields, Monkseaton a couple of Christmases ago. I remember them being a novelty in London 15yrs ago but it seems they’re everywhere now!

Exploding turnips ! That would indeed be a smell to remember.
Replying to @northumbriana
I can still remember the smell from when the bigger boys asked to borrow mine to knock on a door for trick or treat, put a banger inside it & exploded it all over the street! I hadn't even knocked on a door. My poor mother had to carve out three for me and my two brothers too
