8 🇮🇷-flagged tankers spotted in imagery today loitering near Sri Lanka
20 🇮🇷 tankers have been loitering in international waters near Sri Lanka after passing their cargo of 🇮🇷🛢️by Ship-to-Ship (StS) transfer over in the Malaysian EOPL anchorage.
They have been sitting here for months. Today some maneuvered back down to vicinity of Galle, maybe for logistics support from ashore?
The tankers have been here between 60 - 100 days.

October 23, 2026 marks the 43rd anniversary of #Iran-backed #Hezbollah's bombing of the U.S. marine barracks in Beirut, which killed 241 American servicemen.
In the leadup to the bombing, in September 1983, the NSA intercepted a transmission from the Iran regime Intelligence Ministry directing the Islamic Republic's ambassador in Syria to order "spectacular action against the American marines."
The Iranian regime likes to portray itself as a victim of a "war of choice" started by the Trump administration. Unfortunately this point is often echoed by many partisan voices in the West. But this anniversary is a reminder that the conflict between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic began long ago. It's about the Iranian regime's forever war against America and its allies and partners since its inception in 1979--under Democratic and Republican administrations alike--whether U.S. policymakers want to acknowledge it or not.
Many presidents sat back and allowed Iranian regime terrorism to continue without military consequences for Tehran. But that stopped with the Trump administration.
Today in Iran, some figures like SNSC Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, then the IRGC's chief who is subject to an INTERPOL Red Notice, and Ahmad Vahidi have blood on their hands, especially Vahidi who reportedly played a role in the 1983 bombing. Their long history with asymmetric terror tactics continues to this day. This especially should be on the minds of war planners as the U.S. contemplates additional military action.
So this didn't just start in 2025. It started decades ago. And it was long overdue for America to hold the regime accountable for years of bloodshed and terror and to degrade its capabilities to threaten Americans. The work is not over, but it will and should continue.

These calls would have happened irrespective of whether the U.S. had acted militarily or not. In fact, discussions surrounding the acquisition of a nuclear weapon were very much alive prior to the war. The main issue has not been intent—it’s been capability. The latter has been continuously weakened thanks to external action against the programme.
