In the span of 1 year, @unstoppableweb has:
- Removed decentralized payments
- Made KYC mandatory
- Disabled self-custody on tokenized .com's, etc
- Abandoned and disowned web3 domains
- Nuked the Github documentation
This is what @mattgould, @sandy_carter & @ntropiq did.
Unstoppable Domains seem to have silently deleted their smart contracts from GitHub. Any of their fans left?
The Bulgarians from Unstartabledomains.com also allegedly have access to incriminating inside information.
This may well end as a class action lawsuit bringing UD down.

UD caused the largest number of @ICANN complaints filed in 2026 among any registrar. Their plan to get ICANN TLDs will age as well as this statement when they managed to trick their investors into giving them 65 million USD in 2022:
"As the digital economy becomes a larger part of our lives, it's time for people to own their identity on the internet. We're thrilled to partner with @PanteraCapital and other investors who share our vision of onboarding billions of people onto Web3 through NFT domains that unlock user-owned, private, and portable identities."

Well telegraphed my ass :) I was on a panel about web3 at Dubai Domain Days in Sep 2025 with your COO @sandy_carter and she defended web3 use to the death. @unstoppableweb is a company of shapeshifting grifters, the most shameful I've even ever seen in the domain industry.
I was surprised by the reaction on my post. Separately on the same day ENS announced they are going for ".ens" expanding out from .eth also in ICANN. To me this is the obvious direction.
I've had diff reachouts about visibility of web3 domains on our site and am looking at a few ideas there. But the general direction has been laid out for almost 2 years now and we continue to believe it's the right direction. If anything this has been a well telegraphed slow pivot over the past 2 years, bringing web3 along with us to ICANN where we can.

I have officially filed a formal ICANN complaint (#01571094) against @unstoppableweb for Material Breach of their Registrar Agreement. 🧵 on the "Bait & Switch" and the surveillance trap they’re hiding from the #Web3 community. #ICANN2026 #Monero $XMR @cakewallet

It’s interesting to see anyone still defending Unstoppable Domains, they literally launched a new domain less than a week before they pivoted. They were trying to extract one last time for web3 domains, when they absolutely knew they were going to discontinue them.

🧵After spending endless hours & days listing 100’s of my domains. I just realized that 80% of them do not appear on the marketplace or via general search. Some do appear but like this;
In the marketplace search I typed my domain + TLD & this happens

You're plucking web2 domainers over to UD and giving them exactly the same terrible web2 experience.
Meanwhile, you threw the superior web3 innovations out the window.
I don't know how you planned on capturing anyone with that.

NFT fiat checkout is now live on the new OpenSea.

Turning @unstoppableweb's web3 domains into centralized DNS is not going to have the effect that most people think it will.
🧵👇
We are working on our migration plans for web3 TLDs that acquire their matching icann tld in the 2026-2027 icann process. Our goals will be to allow current owners to have both the web3 and icann matching string subject to icann processes. As well as to keep fees to a minimum. We will have more to say about this process closer to the end of the icann application window starting in 2026.

People tell me things that they wouldn't say to @unstoppableweb's face.
I willingly take on the task of being the bringer of harsh truths.
- 90% of your users are unhappy because of TLD dilution.
- Web3 advocates are afraid of your product because of centralization concerns.

.x domains right now:
• Undervalued
• Getting scooped quietly
• No gas
• No renewals
That’s domainer catnip.

To all the naysayers out there, this is what I have to say:
.X dominance will raise all other TLD's with it.
Supporting .X is a net good.
If we stay as before, we'll be stuck with no hype and with everyone pissed off about @unstoppableweb's TLD dilution.
Change is needed.

For the past month, the secondary sales volume of .X has been greater than that of every other TLD on @unstoppableweb combined, including DNS.

Call them .X domains.
Don't call them @unstoppableweb domains, because you know people will think that's a diluted mess.
Refer to .X only.

.x is the KING 👑 web3 only OG tld ✅
There is absolutely no doubt about it in the @unstoppableweb OG community ✅
Its time to shine will come now the focus seems to be ICANN ✅

The people want .x domains.
They know the domains are clean and have no renewal fees.
They saw the way #UDfam stuck around through the bear. They saw Sandy go to DC to meet Trump..
They heard my 30 second clip of a 'Dot X' song..
Folks.. we're back.

Domains centralized under ICANN are not secure for use as cryptocurrency wallet names.
.X and the other ICANN-incompatibles are literally the only ones that are secure for use on crypto payments, because they're not revocable and can't be hijacked.
These are wallet usernames.

After all this time, I still have no idea why these web3 extensions were released but kept perpetually hidden and inaccessible on @unstoppableweb.
Does anyone have any theories on why these secret TLD's exist?
