I’m pleased to see the first federal building reflecting @POTUS’s vision of a classical architecture renaissance breaking ground in Chattanooga today. I worked tirelessly to make sure we could witness this historic moment, and I look forward to seeing it finished.

Earlier this year, SBA removed about 700 firms from its 8(a) program – rooting out those that did not qualify as “economically disadvantaged,” as well as those who refused to share basic financial data for review. Today, we shared those firms with @USGSA, which will scrutinize their past government contract awards for potential fraud, improprieties, and financial misrepresentation. The Trump SBA will not tolerate bad actors exploiting federal contracting programs at the expense of honest small businesses or American taxpayers.
FRAUD UPDATE: Today, SBA is referring nearly 700 noncompliant 8(a) firms to GSA for review to evaluate potential fraud in their government contracting history. This action comes as part of SBA’s broader effort to restore accountability to the 8(a) Program for “socially and economically disadvantaged” small businesses. legacy.sba.gov/article/2026/…

As part of the @WHFraudTF, I'm proud to take this pledge and stand with the @VP and @POTUS in the fight against fraud. Working together, the Trump Administration is weeding out waste, fraud, and abuse wherever it crops up - saving taxpayer dollars and ensuring transparency in each and every program. We will continue to put Americans first and place fraudsters on notice.
Do you hate fraud? If so, I’m calling on you to join me in taking the pledge to protect Americans from fraudsters, by doing everything in your power to ensure that: 1. Vulnerable Americans, such as the elderly, indigent, and disabled, are protected from fraudsters who seek to prey on them. 2. Taxpayer-funded programs serve law-abiding Americans, not illegal aliens or fraudsters. 3. Taxpayer-funded benefits are not used by fraudsters to buy mansions or luxury cars. 4. Public agencies and officials work tirelessly and aggressively, coordinating at all levels of government, to stop fraud before payments go out the door. 5. Fraudsters face justice for their crimes in a court of law. Convicted fraudsters will be imprisoned and barred from ever receiving another penny of taxpayer dollars. 6. Illegal alien fraudsters are promptly arrested, prosecuted, imprisoned, and deported, never able to take advantage of Americans’ generosity again.

Thanks to Highland Engineering for hosting me, @RepTomBarrett, and @USGSA_Ed today! Founded 40 years ago in Howell, MI, this 3-generation business has a 60-person skilled workforce that builds critical infrastructure for our warfighters. With the Trump Admin putting American industry and workers FIRST, they’re growing. Fair Trade means Made in America is back. And the Working Families Tax Cuts mean NO TAX ON OVERTIME — allowing the hardest-working Americans to keep more of what they earn.

At Highland Engineering and small businesses across mid-Michigan, people work hard to do their jobs and provide for their families. I proudly delivered no tax on overtime, no tax on tips, and other relief, and I’ll keep working hard to lower costs. Thanks to @SBA_Kelly and @USGSA_Ed for joining me to see the good work people are doing here in our communities.

The COVID emergency ended more than three years ago, yet fraudsters continue to weaponize outdated emergency contracts to abuse taxpayer money. Working with the White House Task Force, GSA will end the fraud, ensure that bad actors face justice, and fight to recover every stolen dollar.
FRAUD UPDATE: GSA just uncovered $1.2 BILLION in suspected COVID-era contract fraud. Under President Trump and Vice President Vance, there is no safe-haven for fraudsters - especially at GSA. gsa.gov/about-gsa/newsroom/n…
