Today, I, Rt. Hon. Herman Iorwase Hembe, ADC governorship candidate for Benue State in 2027, had the opportunity to speak at the official campaign flag-off for Dr. David Olofu, PhD, and other ADC candidates in Benue South.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a party for all Nigerians, and we are presenting candidates who are ready to serve and offer a different direction for our country.
I used the opportunity to appeal to our people in Zone C to support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and vote for all ADC candidates across the ballot, from top to bottom.
I also urged them to recognise the place of their illustrious son, Senator David Mark, who currently serves as the National Chairman of our great party.
This is a moment for unity and collective effort. Let us come together and work towards the future we want for Benue State and Nigeria.

The simultaneous attacks on the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore @sowore, and the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, His Excellency Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, are deeply troubling and unacceptable.
These twin assaults expose the extent to which the ruling APC administration is prepared to oppress and intimidate opposition leaders and their supporters.
It is particularly disturbing that while President Bola Tinubu is away on spiritual pilgrimage, political enforcers and thugs loyal to his party are unleashing terror on his political opponents at home. These two realities cannot coexist in a democracy.
The continued attacks on opposition figures and the unexplained disappearance of critical social media influencers are clear red flags of a dangerous slide toward a censored state where the opposition is crushed by the brute force of the current government.
These incidents are unbecoming of any democratic government and starkly reveal the desperation of the Tinubu administration.
We therefore demand immediate and transparent investigations into both attacks. The Tinubu government must refrain from any attempt to muzzle the opposition and must guarantee a free, fair, and competitive contest in the forthcoming general elections.
I have it on good authority that a local security outfit in Sokoto State has been harassing ADC supporters, manhandling citizens simply for wearing ADC merchandise.
We shall resist every ongoing attempt to cancel political opposition in Nigeria. The ruling APC has failed in its mandate. Nigerians must be allowed to freely participate in an electoral contest that will determine the fate of this administration. -AA

The religious card has expired. What remains for Bola Tinubu in 2027?
In Taraba yesterday, worshippers walked out of a Jumu’ah mosque when an imam tried to campaign for the Muslim-Muslim ticket inside the place of worship. Reports indicate the congregation nearly turned on him. This was not an isolated rejection of an imam; it was a rejection of the idea that religion can still be weaponised to demand loyalty after four years of hardship.
You cannot tell a hungry Muslim to vote for Tinubu because of a Muslim-Muslim ticket that delivered inflation, food shortages, and widespread poverty. You cannot ask the North to renew its support for the same arrangement when the President has failed to protect lives and livelihoods. Sentiments does not fill the stomach, and it does not stop bandits.
After nearly four years in power, any serious re-election effort must rest on measurable results and kept promises. Appeals to faith, tribe, or region will no longer suffice. Nigerians are living with the consequences of the current policies. They will not grant a second term simply to deepen the same pain.
Atiku Abubakar offers the clearest contrast. He has consistently refused to play the religious or ethnic card. His campaigns have been framed around policy, competence, and national cohesion rather than identity. That approach demonstrates a politician more interested in governing a functional Nigeria than in capturing power at any cost. Growing numbers of Nigerians now see that distinction, and 2027 will test it at the ballot.
Tinubu has alienated voters across the North and the South, and among both Muslims and Christians. He spent his years in office securing governors and lawmakers while ordinary citizens absorbed the costs of his reforms. In 2027 those citizens will deliver their verdict.
On the evidence of performance and public sentiment, Tinubu currently has no credible pathway to re-election.

Today, we successfully concluded a five-day visit to Kano State, facilitated by @Mo_Atiku , during which we held fruitful discussions and consultations with young people, particularly young traders, Islamic scholars, and various support groups.
At the conclusion of the visit, we had the opportunity to observe the Friday congregational prayers at the Sheikh Uba Central Mosque in the Sharada neighbourhood, where prayers were offered with the hope that Almighty Allah would grant His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, success in his aspiration to provide purposeful and effective leadership for our beloved country.
May Allah guide and grant us success. Ameen.
Thank you, Kano youths, for the warm reception and overwhelming support!

Where is Imran U. Wakili?
By his own account, police officers stormed the home of @IU_Wakilii on Thursday, towed his car, seized his younger brother in his place, and ordered him to report to the station. He said he was on his way. Since then, his family has heard nothing. This is what Bola Tinubu's APC government has made of Nigeria: a country where a young man's opinions can cost him his liberty, and where the police take a brother hostage to bring a critic in.
Let me be clear. If Imran is in police custody, the Nigeria Police must say so today, tell his family where he is being held, state the charge against him, and give him access to his lawyer. Holding a citizen in silence is not policing; it is intimidation, and Nigerians see it for exactly what it is. Bola may silence one voice, but he cannot silence a nation that is already hungry, angry, and watching.
As President, I will restore the rule of law, protect every Nigerian's right to speak freely, and ensure that no citizen ever disappears for holding the government to account. Criticism is not a crime.
Free Imran now. -AA

Are these people abnormal or just shameless? They say ₦10bn for solar power at Aso Villa is a favour to Nigerians because it will leave more electricity for us. The President gets a reliable supply; families and businesses are told to be grateful for whatever the grid leaves behind. What kind of reasoning is that?

PRESS STATEMENT
TINUBU HAS BUILT NOTHING EXCEPT A SOLAR FARM TO POWER HIS COMFORT IN ASO ROCK, WHILE NIGERIANS SUFFER — ADC-PCC
The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has described as an insult to Nigerians the statement credited to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, declaring that “The Question Is What We Build, Not How Much We Borrow.”
The ADC-PCC challenged President Tinubu to identify what his administration has actually built with the mountain of loans it has accumulated since assuming office in 2023 insisting that Nigerians have seen little or no tangible returns on the country's growing debt burden.
The campaign council's reaction was contained in a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja.
Ologbondiyan said it was particularly disturbing that Mr Onanuga would attempt to dress the President in borrowed garments by speaking about infrastructure and development when, according to the ADC-PCC, the administration has failed to demonstrate commensurate achievements despite unprecedented borrowing.
He alleged that the only visible project associated with the administration's concern for electricity is a solar farm installed to guarantee power supply within the comfort of the Presidential Villa, while millions of Nigerians continue to grapple with unreliable electricity.
Ologbondiyan pointed out that "For three and a half wasted years, TInubu government has borrowed without restraint and built nothing. No value, no legacy, no impact.
“Except for projects inherited from the late President Muhammadu Buhari, many of the projects being advertised by the Tinubu administration are nothing but audio projects. They exist only on paper, as conceptual designs or as announcements on newspaper pages and television screens.
“Under Tinubu, virtually every project exists in a press statement.
“Where is the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway? Audio. Where is the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway? Audio. Where is the Trans-Sahara Superhighway? Audio. Where are the promised electricity grid upgrades? All propaganda, no commensurate progress, just media hype from Bayo Onanuga and his team.
“Even the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, awarded more than eight years ago, remains a source of concern to motorists. Its prolonged construction and delays tell the story of APC governance.
“Mr President must wake up and confront the reality facing Nigerians, if there is still left between now and January 16.
Citizens are hungry and enduring excruciating hardship. People are dying from hunger, insecurity and deprivation, while the government remains preoccupied with propaganda and self-congratulatory statements.
“These are the real signposts of what the Tinubu administration has built in almost four years.
“Today, ministries are barely functioning, agencies are struggling, and critical directorates are failing to deliver. Nigeria is practically comatose.
"The Tinubu Presidency came into power without a convincing blueprint or workable ideas and, after almost four years, has offered Nigerians little beyond failure, hardship, poverty and insecurity.
“If borrowing is truly for development, let President Tinubu show Nigerians one tangible project his administration has delivered with its trillions of naira in loans, beyond the solar farm in the Presidential Villa.
“The only thing this administration has successfully built is hardship.
“We appeal to international donors, development partners and financial institutions to exercise greater scrutiny and insist on accountability, transparency and prudence before extending further loans to Nigeria.
“Borrowing is not inherently wrong when the benefits translate into improved living conditions for citizens. What is unacceptable is a situation in which the country continues to accumulate debts without corresponding benefits for the people.

The arrest and detention of Imran @IU_Wakilii, a well-known critic of the ruling party and loyalist of Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai, yesterday raises serious questions about the state of our democracy. We demand immediate disclosure of his whereabouts and the specific offence for which he is being held.
If this is another attempt to silence dissenting voices and intimidate the opposition, then it is time we stopped the pretence that democracy is still alive in Nigeria. Due process, the rule of law, and the right to free political expression must be protected, or we must openly admit that we are living under something else.

Information reaching me indicates that one of our own, fellow El-Rufaist @IU_Wakilii, has reportedly been arrested.
When are we going to outgrow this culture of intimidation? Nobody should be subjected to intimidation for their views or political association.
We demand transparency, respect for his fundamental rights, and his immediate release if there is no lawful basis for his continued detention. Justice and due process must prevail. 💯

URGENT PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE DISAPPEARANCE OF IMRAN (@IU_WAKILII)
I make this statement with deep concern as Imran's fellow colleague, associate in the El-Rufa'i Camp, and Convener of the El-Rufa'i Youth Movement.
Yesterday, Imran sent me a statement and specifically requested that I make it public if we became unable to reach him or establish his whereabouts. In keeping with his request, I am making the statement public.
It has now been over 12 hours since I last spoke with Imran. Despite several attempts by members of the El-Rufa'i Camp youth to reach him, all efforts have been unsuccessful.
We are deeply concerned about his safety and whereabouts.
I appeal to the general public and security agencies to assist us in locating him. Anyone with useful information should contact:
X: @ElRufai_Live / @ElrufaiBoys
Email: [email protected]
Phone: +234 808 213 1009
Below is the statement Imran sent to me yesterday, which he requested I publish if we could not find him.
We want to know that Imran is safe. Please help amplify this message.
Signed:
Convener, El-Rufa'i Youth Movement
Imran's statement
"Earlier today, police personnel came to my house looking for me, but unfortunately, I was not around. They told those they met that the matter was urgent and that I needed to report to them. However, I was occupied at the time and could not immediately attend to their request.
After a while, they left, and I thought that was all for the moment. After a while they returned and this time, the situation took a different turn.
When they came back, they arrested my younger brother and towed my car. According to them, I had to present myself before they could release him. The reason they gave was that the car I have been driving for over two years was allegedly a stolen vehicle.
What makes this situation particularly surprising to me is that before I started using the car, my brother has been using it for atleast two to three years. In other words, this is not a vehicle that either of us started using yesterday. Yet, I am now faced with an allegation that has resulted in the arrest of my younger brother.
I am making this public because I am on my way to meet the police now. I believe it is important that people are aware of the situation, particularly because my brother has been arrested in connection with a matter they say concerns me.
I will be going there to understand exactly what is happening and to find out the basis of this allegation.
For now, I do not want to jump to conclusions or make claims about what I do not yet know.
I will provide further updates as the situation unfolds.
Thank you.
Signed Imran U Wakili"
