A lot of people lamenting the Paramount/Warner merger and fearing David Ellison's control over the media are forgetting that we have three secret weapons at our disposal, currently lurking high up in the Warner water tower.
The crazier thing about this footage is that it’s characterized as “Lily Tomlin and David O. Russell get into a violent screaming match”, and yet, it’s mostly Lily Tomlin complaining for a bit and then David O. Russell absolutely unhinged screaming. Not a mutual “fight” at all.
In 2007, footage of Lily Tomlin and director David O. Russell getting into a violent screaming match on the set of I HEART HUCKABEES (2004), with Dustin Hoffman and Jason Schwartzman also present, was uploaded online anonymously. There had been only rumors of Russell's difficulty with actors like George Clooney on the set of THREE KINGS until this footage quietly circulated throughout industry agencies with some reports of its existence. Still wild to see this behavior even today 👀

Remember when the LAPD shot this Australian journalist 14 months ago?
The LAPD had 12 months to adjudicate it. Since nothing is listed on the June or July discipline report, it seems the LAPD has exonerated the LAPD.

still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them
Really tired of anything production related being referred to as “a creative collective”. If that were the case, I’d have just as much decision-making power as the five Creative Producers surrounding me.
The In Memoriams continue to be classist trash. Why are there always eight billion agents and managers up there and not crew or technical geniuses like this guy.
So incredibly disappointed and heartbroken that the #Oscars and AMPAS chose not to include my father, David Keighley, and his immeasurable contributions to IMAX and cinema in the In Memoriam segment in the broadcast.
I will never forget.

This clip has all the subtlety of an episode of Law & Order. The officer coming in, the hurried whisper, the sputtering non-answers after…
Super crazy moment that it sure would be great if @cd14losangeles @CD13LosAngeles @cd4losangeles demands the Chief explains to City Council in public
We pay wayyyyy toooo much money to the LAPD for them to do shit like this
I just really don’t understand people who are running “masterclasses” or “crash courses on X department in film” right now. It feels downright irresponsible. Practically mail fraud.
I do a LOT of mentorship and informational interviews, with everyone from young union pros to college students- and I still do, even in this awful job climate. I don’t discourage them, but my advice to them has changed (lots of “stay where you are and gain experience”)

Federal agents opened fire in a Los Angeles neighborhood (Willowbrook) this morning during an ICE operation. Feds were chasing people in a car, fired into the car, & caused the car to crash.
LASD is assisting the feds on the ground.
I can’t believe that they 1) are talking about late scripts like it’s fine and 2) don’t realize how much of assholes they look like here
Me: “Casting, please send me a racially diverse group of people for our scene tomorrow.”
Casting: sends me a lineup of white-passing brunette people, distinguishable only by last name
Colorism is really a bastard, huh?

I was yesterday years old when I found out private equity is what killed Blockbuster and not streaming, like most of us assume.
Last month, Denny's was bought out by private equity in a $620 million deal.
Now the company is closing 150 locations.
It's the latest chain to be swallowed by private equity and see numerous workers lose their jobs.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Denny’s announced the store closures back in 2024, and have been phasing out these locations in 2025 and into 2026. The PE acquisition has not changed this result, contrary to the post’s implied causation.
