❤️ I love the potential of Cardano. That’s why Upstream is still here, running our SPO infrastructure and maintaining our set of useful tools.
🤝 We invested early in bare metal infrastructure and ring-fenced roughly 10 years running costs when we had meaningful delegations from FEs like @Cardano_CF and @IOGroup and some beautiful community whales back in the early days.
🔁 We receive rewards, convert to fiat or increase our pledge if we can, and operate as a profitable UK limited company. The directors original investments paid back long ago and our runway is still long.
💸 When funding is available we organise events and host community summits with great historical success, keeping the community connected in person. Recently these avenues of funding have closed or become sparse with little desire for in person meet ups or the community summits.
💰 As a tiny pool today we generate about $100 a month in SPO rewards. And so we resell hosting and api access to a few clients needing data access and a managed service that they can request custom data structures to meet their needs.
~~~~~~~~~~
💧Delegate to Upstream - managing our rewards, infrastructure and in person events is what we do best, your delegation enables us to do more 💪
Someone has created a vulnerable PHP website, loaded it with a Bitcoin wallet, and challenged the Internet to hack into it and they can keep the Bitcoin. It has a running timer to show if the PHP exploitability was over-hyped. stealmybitcoin.com/
Critical PHP vulnerabilities to be disclosed tomorrow: php.net/archive/2026.php.
We're working directly with the PHP Foundation to get patched PHP versions into our base images for Laravel Cloud, Forge, and Vapor ASAP.
You may need to redeploy your apps at that time to use these patched versions, but we're also working on the ability to silently patch applications without needing a redeployment.
All customers have been emailed and we will be providing further updates via email as the situation evolves.
Not a great day to run a dev agency with 100s of sites you support!
The internet is broken, but it’s ok, we can vibe code a way out of this right? 😂😅
It needs to be done. It needed to be done before Chang, let’s face it …
Min pool cost was a ‘ghost’ parameter never intended to help the Cardano blockchain. Designed by the yet to experience decentralised Governance (yes that’s a being friendly take …)
Makes no sense, rip the bandaid off, don’t be a pussy, you only live once, live life to the full … take your pick DReps, but please make sure you vote 🙏
"Your readers deserve journalism, not manufactured drama designed to generate a few more clicks.
"Are you building a credible source of information, or simply rewarding whatever produces the most sensational headline?"
To @CoinDesk's publisher and editorial leadership,
We are not for sale. Your article is based on false information and contains multiple factual errors.
We welcome scrutiny, but we will not stay silent when speculation is presented as fact. If manufacturing controversy is your strategy for attracting readers, selling events, or keeping your business afloat, that says more about your business model than it does about ours.
Whatever commercial pressures you face, they are not an excuse to mislead your audience. Your readers deserve journalism, not manufactured drama designed to generate a few more clicks.
To the publisher specifically: you are responsible for the standards of the publication you operate. Are you building a credible source of information, or simply rewarding whatever produces the most sensational headline?
Publishing a story that attracts attention is not an achievement when the underlying facts are wrong.
Correct the record, clearly acknowledge the errors, and give the correction the same visibility you gave the original claims. Do not quietly change the wording and pretend the original reporting was sound.
Credibility is earned through accuracy and accountability, not sensationalism.
Your readers deserve better, and your publisher should demand better.
Running a pool isn't always just minting blocks.
FLUID also runs Preview and Leios testnets, operates a Mithril signer, hosts a Blockfrost Icebreaker node, and helps build SPO Academy.
Delegating backs an operator building Cardano, not just collecting rewards.
Until now, a hard fork meant new code and a vote to turn it on. This time that's not enough. Dijkstra brings new protocol parameters, and our current Constitution has no idea they exist. If we upgrade without fixing that, we get new features nobody is allowed to adjust.
So the Constitution has to change alongside the protocol. That's CAP-12.
The part I find interesting is that this isn't just paperwork. Every new parameter has to be put somewhere, and where it goes decides who has a say over it later. DReps only, or DReps and SPOs. That's a real choice, one that can be influenced now.
It's in consultation on the CAP Portal. Read it, poke holes in it, leave a comment:
⚙️ Technical update
Cardano Node version 11.1.3 has been released. This update issues a fix to ledger decoding of IPv4 addresses in version 11.1.2.
SPOs and node operators are recommended to run node version 11.1.2 at a minimum, following an issue discovered on Preprod testnet. Those still yet to upgrade from versions older than 11.1.2 are advised to go straight to 11.1.3. No ledger replay required.
GM #Cardano - you're in the news!
Today we launch the Barça Fan Lab: fcbarcelona.com/en/club/news…
We've spent the last two years working behind the scenes to bring one of the world's biggest brands to Cardano, and today we're live.
Thank you to everyone at Barça Vision, Andamio, and UTXOS for bringing the project to life.
This journey is just beginning, and we'll continue to tell the story of this project in the weeks to come. It's a story about a vision we share, the relationships we've built, our technical achievements, and where we're going next.
For now, try it: lab.barcavision.fcbarcelona.…
Oh dear indeed, when a brand is left in the wrong hands 🤦♂️
TapTools is no longer a Cardano 𝕏 account.
That is not an easy sentence to write.
Our strongest conviction has moved beyond crypto.
From today forward, TapTools will focus on AI, humanoid robotics, energy, automation, and the technologies pushing the world toward abundance.
That is where we believe the next great transformation is happening.
We'll always have love for Cardano, but it's time for us to move forward.
We hope you will join us for what comes next.
The parameter committee has spent months/years debating on how to accurately gauge SPO sentiment about raising stakePoolTargetNum from 500->1000.
As part of this, myself and another member of the parameter committee meticulously drafted all the arguments for and arguments against and linked them in separate documents so that voters could have a balanced view of both arguments. We linked these inside of a neutral-language Info Action body for SPOs to consider.
Because Info Actions have no ratification threshold and stakePoolTargetNum isn't a parameter that SPOs vote on through governance, the parameter committee collectively agreed to use a specific threshold of explicit YES > explicit NO for this Info Action. This is already above and beyond what the protocol and the Constitution require and we went out of our way to give SPOs a voice on this.
Unfortunately, a community member who is opposed to the parameter change hijacked our draft and the years of effort that went into it, changed the threshold to suit his desired outcome, and submitted it without consulting anybody.
Even if the we can reasonably disagree about what the threshold should be for this vote (remember it is not required at all), taking other people's work, twisting it, and submitting in a manner to suit your own narrative is extremely disappointing to see.
I'm very disheartened by this after having spent years of my own, uncompensated effort building to this point only to see a community member undermine it like this.
If you want to see the real draft that the parameter committee put together, you can read it here. Also the case for and case against are linked as well, so you can see both sides of the discussion fairly.
I can't speak on behalf of the others, but I will be interpreting the outcome of the vote based on the criteria that the parameter committee collectively agreed on, regardless of what this Info Action says.
🤣 so true. I have no idea why you all are focusing this effort on the min pool fee, nothing else to do?
It will change nothing for small SPOs, it shouldn’t exist but it does. It’s a distraction. And this is too little too late. If you want to help small pools then you must hurt the large pools, it’s simple, can’t have both - either way for the love of god, please stop using small pools to market this silly idea … all this argument on min pool cost has done for the past few months is tell everyone not to delegate to small pools …
So cheers I guess 🍻✌️
Yes, we both agree that this adjustment will not fundamentally change anything. So why are we doing it now? Why is it being bundled in with a Plutus Cost Model change? When will the vaunted and celebrated "Parameter Committee" grow a pair and actually suggest some seriously meaningfully impactful changes to grow the network? Voting yes because "why not" isn't a reason to vote yes. That's why we default towards a No vote instead.
