"Born this way" attempts to make queerness palatable to heteronormative society, but it becomes soo regressive when used for purity tests. For example many trans experiences aren't those of "born in the wrong body", yet they're equally valid cuz sexuality and gender are complex!!

If someone is a woman who has a preference of only dating other women, then it makes sense for them to feel most comfortable w the "lesbian" label. labels aren't supposed to capture your "telos", they're constructed social identities that in a perfect world we wouldn't even need.
