Thank you, Emmanuel, for your condolences. Unfortunately, the death toll from the Russian strike on a commuter train in Dnipro has already risen to 14. And just a few hours ago, the Russians struck a residential neighborhood in Chernihiv with a drone and killed two girls. They were only 15 years old. In Kremenchuk, a Russian “shahed” struck an apartment building. Tragically, three people were killed. My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones. In these three attacks alone, 56 people have been reported injured, including 10 children.
These are deliberate strikes against civilians, brazen in their cruelty, and the Russians are carrying them out right as the humanitarian operation in Oleshky is unfolding. Russia’s signals are clear – they want the war to continue, and everyone around the world must still work very hard to achieve major de-escalation through strong steps and appropriate pressure on the aggressor.
Peace is needed – and for that to happen, Russia must end its war and terror.

Arab voters essentially holding the balance of power in this Israeli election was not on my bingo card. But damn, that’s real democratic power. For those calling Israel an apartheid state, good luck explaining that one.

They called it apartheid. The ballot box called them liars. Arab and Muslim parties are winning 17 seats in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. Arab turnout was above 70% in town after town. Wait, I thought Zionists were racist, so how come these “racists” are giving parliamentary seats to Arabs and Muslims, who, in turn, came out to vote? Some villages hit 90% turnout.
They democratically participated and voted in a Zionist democratic system they believe in?
Arabs now hold about 14% of Israel’s parliament. Muslim MPs hold about 4% of Britain’s. Odd kind of apartheid, where the “oppressed” vote harder than London does.

Israel’s Arab citizens, men and women, are turning out in historic numbers to vote. They can vote, run for office, and serve in the Knesset, rights denied to many Arabs and women across much of the Middle East.
Our critical ally in the fight against terror, Israel, is the only democracy in the region, and today shows it.

Apartheid?
This is Mansour Abbas, voting today with his wife in Israel's elections. He is an Arab citizen and a member of Knesset, and he leads a party that sat in Israel's government. Keep this picture in mind the next time someone calls Israel an "apartheid state."
Abbas is running on "change." The West calls him a moderate and a pragmatist. So let's ask what those words mean.
"Moderate" Palestinian pragmatists say they have already compromised by acknowledging that Israel exists. Now they want an Israeli leadership ready for "change," meaning ready to compromise in return. And the compromise they expect is recognition of the Muslims' exclusive right to the entire Temple Mount compound.
That is no small concession. The Temple Mount is where the First and Second Temples stood, before layers of history, including Islamic history, were built on top of them. It is the heart of the Jewish people's biblical, historical and archaeological bond to this land, and after 1967 Israel uncovered abundant evidence of that bond. Today the UN calls the site "occupied territory." From 1948 to 1967 Jordan ruled it, and no one called that occupation, even though Jews were barred from the Old City and the Western Wall for nineteen years.
The Temple was called a house of prayer for all peoples. Today Jerusalem is open to every faith, and ironically the only people restricted from praying on the Temple Mount are Jews. Still, the "moderates" demand total Muslim exclusivity.
In April 2025, during Passover, "moderate" Mansour Abbas shared the statement below from his party, the United Arab List, and its parent body, the Islamic Movement. It condemns an Israeli lawmaker for "storming" Al-Aqsa, and his offense was praying on the Temple Mount. It calls the record number of Jewish visitors that Passover "intruders." It accuses the police of protecting these "incursions" and warns of a religious explosion with dire consequences. It declares the site the exclusive right of Muslims alone, every grain of its soil, every courtyard and plaza. And it calls on Arab citizens of Israel and on Jerusalemites to flock to Al-Aqsa "in the face of all conspiracies."
Strip away the pious wording and you'll recognize the script. Jews are "storming," the holy site is in danger, the faithful must mobilize. Hamas named its October 7 massacre "Al-Aqsa Flood."
Asking Israel to surrender its holiest site is asking it to surrender its claim to the land, its very right to exist. That is not a two-state compromise. It is a one-faith claim.
This is what "change" means.
Which other country lets a man who rejects its very foundations sit in its parliament, or serve in its government?
Again: apartheid?

No matter how much time passes, my heart still breaks for all those impacted eight years ago in the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue.
Eleven beautiful souls were stolen from their families and their congregation. Six others were injured and an entire community was devastated. In remembering these hard moments, I am prouder than ever of my Jewish faith — I know that our community is strong, and that love will always overpower hate.
Everyone deserves the right to worship in peace and safety, and I’ll always fight for that future.
Eight years ago today, a white supremacist shot and killed 11 people and injured six others at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Every house of worship should be safe from gun violence, but our communities experience armed hate far too often.
Today and always, our hearts are with the victims, survivors, their loved ones, and the entire Tree of Life community as we work to build a future where these attacks no longer happen.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.
