Asia may need to invest $1 trillion a year in energy for the next 15 years to avoid another shock, per McKinsey. The Hormuz closure hit Asia hardest: 80% of the strait's oil and 90% of its gas went there. #Asia #EnergySecurity #Hormuz #LNG

This pumping station on the Saudi East-West pipeline was showing around 120MW fire on 15:30Z today, which is too high for regular flaring and suggests a strike or emergency flaring.
It was still bright two hours later.

Meanwhile, the oil volatility index (OVX) appears to be breaking out of its own consolidation pattern. Rising implied volatility alongside rising oil prices is not a good combination, suggesting not only higher oil prices to come, but also higher inflation and potentially higher interest rates.
If oil prices break out alongside rising implied volatility, the market will likely need to price in a more aggressive path of central bank rate hikes, pushing interest rate expectations higher.

🚨 BREAKING: Hackers are actively exploiting a CRITICAL 9.9/10 zero-day vulnerability that can give them FULL CONTROL of enterprise network management systems.
And the worst part? Even a READ-ONLY account can be used to gain superuser privileges.
Arista has confirmed active attacks targeting its VeloCloud Orchestrator platform, which enterprises use to manage their SD-WAN networks.
Here's what's happening:
→ CVE-2026-114625 is a critical SQL injection vulnerability rated 9.9/10.
→ Attackers with even the lowest level of authenticated access can escalate to full operator privileges.
→ Successful exploitation can expose sensitive data, compromise the management server, and disrupt critical network infrastructure.
→ This is the THIRD actively exploited VeloCloud zero-day disclosed since July.
→ CISA has now added the vulnerability to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, confirming the urgency.
→ Previously patched systems may STILL be vulnerable. Organizations must install the latest security updates.
Arista has also identified two IP addresses involved in active exploitation:
🔴 74.82.197[.]86
🔴 38.54.50[.]151
This is becoming a serious pattern.
Critical vulnerabilities are being discovered and actively exploited in the infrastructure businesses rely on to operate.
And increasingly, attackers don't need sophisticated techniques to gain devastating levels of access.
⚠️ If you're running business-critical infrastructure, don't assume you're protected just because your systems were recently updated.
At Lucid Security, we're offering FREE security reviews to help businesses identify vulnerabilities and potential exposure before attackers exploit them.

Building Africa’s Digital Single Market: “The Role of Government & Private Sector in Achieving Regional Integration”
Africa stands at a critical point in its digital transformation. The opportunity is significant: the continent’s e-commerce market is projected to reach USD $113 billion by 2029, while the African Union’s Digital Single Market ambition seeks to strengthen integration and unlock greater cross-border trade.
A UN report published in 2024 cited estimates that a Digital Single Market could increase intra-African trade by up to 30% by 2030. These projections underline the scale of the opportunity, but realising it will require deliberate action.
Three priorities are essential:
1. Interoperability: Digital identity, payments, business registration, customs and trade systems must communicate seamlessly across borders, reducing duplication and the cost of doing business.
2. Trust and security: Cybersecurity, data protection, reliable digital authentication and consumer protection must underpin online transactions.
3. MSME inclusion: Small businesses need affordable connectivity, digital skills and proportionate light regulatory requirements to access regional markets and compete effectively.
Africa must move beyond simply connecting people and platforms to building a connected digital economy. This calls for stronger regional cooperation, harmonised digital standards and partnerships between governments, regulators and the private sector.
The opportunity is clear: Make cross-border digital trade simpler, safer and more accessible, and turn Africa’s digital potential into jobs, enterprise growth and shared prosperity. @kta_law @mtic_uganda
