in keynote speech by Julie Singer on foetuses speaking from the womb📢
Nice etymology nugget:
an INFANT or INFAUNT is IN-FANS 'unable to speak'
(from Latin fari --> to speak / talk / fortell)

#WRMGC2021 is over for this year! Thank you to the conference organisers, our panelists, and our audience for making this all possible.
Special thanks are due to our keynotes, @Nahir_Otano and Julie Springer, for challenging us on who -gets- to be a self in the middle ages.
Thank you to @mcleish_t for taking us to the stars in our stargazing workshop, and thank you to Tanya Batten, for letting us stitch ourselves into the medieval world.
Finally, big thanks to @yorkmedieval and @LeedsIMS
for hosting, and to the HRC, for the collaborative grant we received.
In 15 minutes (17:00 BST), Dr. Julie Singer will be giving our second and final keynote of the conference with her paper, “Selfless Mothers: Fetal Personhood and Maternal Identity”.
We will then have closing remarks by @marisapmichaud.

Thanks to all who attended my paper today for #WRMGC2021! I'm so sorry that we didn't get through all of the questions - there was so much to discuss.
I'm giving a talk on Friday morning for @WRMedieval and I just finished my slides! (Still indecisive about the title though!)
