Especially from him 🤔 didn't his kids run away from him and decided to transition themselves? His family does not seem to need anyone for what he tries to scare people... think about that.
If you believe this, you’re a fucking idiot.

Yes and Musk is the weirdo here....
There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

Today I am sharing a new preprint and accompanying blog post. Hundreds of published papers include impossible western blots showing protein expression in cell lines that have deleted or mutated genes. These clumsy mistakes are widespread and repeated by LLMs.

Another win for academia model...
"Biotech needs money to solve big problems" "Here is $3b" "Biotech needs Nobel prize level talent" "Granted" "err......."

"...peak human capital..." Fu<% Y@□! man. Considered they do not want to buttplug into your style of economy perhaps? 🤮
I recently spent some time with former colleagues from academia. All of them brilliant, peak human capital. Almost all of them fundamentally unable to plug into the economy, inoculated against productivity by a youth spent experimenting in laboratories instead of building wealth for society. Dealing with real people in the real world. 90% of them have left academia in the last 10-15 years, and 90% of those are functionally unemployed. Grad school does a lousy job of training scientists to be professors (since most of them don't get the good postdoc or tenure track position) and an even worse job of preparing people for real life. We complain that our societal infrastructure is collapsing, our state capacity is low, our incumbent industries are faltering. Where are the next generation of leaders that can push us forward? A huge fraction of them were conveyor-belted into academia by schooling systems that have no mechanism to channel ambition and 99+%ile competence, and our universities are mostly hedge funds with glorified psych wards/academic departments on the side, running an insane pyramid scheme that exists only to prove, over and over again, the Shirky Principle: Institutions will try to preserve the problem to which they are the solution. We literally poured trillions of dollars into state-funded research and effectively neutered our elite civilian technical leadership development programs. I recently asked a few academic friends if they were finding AI useful in accelerating their programs of research. You know, to solve the Big Problem their entire field exists to solve? Some were. But most were complaining about how it created pedagogical issues, explaining how their department decided to ban the use of AI, or how it took 18 months to approve an enterprise account, or how they tried Gemini 2 on a puzzle a year ago and it wasn't very helpful, or repeating nonsense about datacenters and water consumption, or supposed IP theft by model companies, as though that has any bearing on their ability to, eg, accelerate a cure for cancer. Elon sometimes calls AI a supersonic tsunami - a huge wave you don't see coming. I see it coming. But even the people who you'd think have been waiting for this their entire careers are steadfastly looking in the other direction.

Upcoming Webinar: A case study in Xenopus using HCR™ Pro RNA-CISH and HCR™ Gold RNA-FISH to maximize sensitivity and multiplex capabilities Different experimental questions can call for different readouts: high-sensitivity chromogenic detection for low-abundance targets, and multiplexed fluorescent imaging for quantifying expression across multiple targets. Join Professor Douglas Houston from the @uiowa to see how HCR™ Pro RNA-CISH can support ultra-sensitive chromogenic detection and brightfield imaging in whole-mount embryos, and how HCR™ Gold RNA-FISH can complement that workflow for high-resolution, quantitative analysis. 🗓️ Thursday, October 29 🕗 8:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM CT Register today: my.demio.com/ref/XCVLmHOnaJG…

Last week we released Minos, our framework of premeasured experimental worlds for agentic science. Minos is not for obtaining the best scientific result, it's for understanding how AI agents make scientific decisions and maybe help them make better ones. Let's dig in! 1/
Agentic models can act, observe consequences, and decide what to do next. This is great for coding, but if you want them to do science, lab experiments take forever. To fix this, we made a lab-in-the-loop with zero latency! 1/10

Falls die Daten echt sind, dann ist die AfD am Ende. Dann muss ein AfD Verbot kommen. #AfDVerbotJetzt
❗️ The AfD leak site's thousands of emails shows nazism from party members and staff labeled under racism/antisemitism. We went through the worst: 1. A 2018 email forwarded by Alexander Gauland concerns a "Hitler-Wallfahrt", a Hitler pilgrimage, by a former judge at the party's Thuringia arbitration court. 2. A member joked in a district WhatsApp group about turning refugees into handbags and boots, an allusion to the Nazi camps. 3. A district chairman quit, saying a board member sent a "Heil Hitler" Christmas card with a swastika and it was laughed off. 4. A Bavarian official urged party leaders to chant "Merkel verrecke", roughly "Merkel, croak", every day. 5. Federal party staff discussed luring a photographer to an event to remove him by force. The thread signs off "Heil und Sieg". 6. A 2025 NRW email is titled "Sale of swastika flags and drugs at the info stand". 7. This year alone, branches moved against members over a Nazi banner with a swastika, a Hitler impression and a call for machine guns against Arab clans.

This... you work decades to define and shape your unique scientific profile and questions, then you put it in an averager that makes it more similar to everything else's ideas style and insight. Like Neil, i do not like reading ai in papers, grants and applications.
Why do I struggle even reading papers that are clearly AI? Writing is a window into another person’s brain, their thinking, values, and outlook. When I read AI text, I mostly feel they shortchanged themselves and me.
