Donyell Malen after he joined Roma lasy summer finished the season with 17 G/A in 20 games (0.91 G/A p90). Mbappe level output
This season he has 9 G/A in 8 games (1.42 G/A p90). BalandOr level output. Told all of yall to get his stocks in the summer. Too late now

Arteta said Rice is not a lighthouse anymore. That's true. He has transformed into the perfect total footballer
Only Jude Bellingham is in the same category

This was amazing from Konsa but one of my pet peeves is when nothing comes out of it. We literally wasted this by dilly dallying on the ball (not Konsa's fault, but our MFs and attackers)
After taking that Leeds player out the game had a +2 on the pitch, we we definitely should be taking advantage of
Onus is on the midfielders and CF to drop deep/make counter movements to penetrate the opposition block or gain territory
In this instance nothing happened we just ended up recycling the ball between the defensive line. Because none of Øde, MLS, Rice or Havertz took advantage of the situation created by Konsa

Mauricio Pochettino compared Mousa Dembele with the likes of Maradona, Ronaldinho, Okocha and De La Pena
In MLS, Arsenal have casually popped a regen in the exact same image of the former Spurs star

Building on the amazing work done by @scottjwillis, I made a simple viz to compare Michael Oliver's refereeing decisions for the top 6. And the results are quite concerning if you're an Arsenal fan.
To start with, Oliver punishes Arsenal nearly twice as harshly as any PL side 🧵

Nwaneri's G/A potential as an Ødegaard successor in the current Arsenal setup is astronomical
At 19, his standout ballstriking ability coming into zone 14 from the Right Half Space is already among the best in the world
Look at the spaces he's picking up and operating in for Dortmund. Exact copy of where and how Øde operates for Arsenal
This might turn out to be one of the best loan deals we've been a part of alongside Saliba to Marsielle

I genuinely cannot think of a CF with better back to goal play than Brian Brobbey
Given how Arteta likes to play, how teams set up against Arsenal & the general direction in which PL football is moving towards, project Brobbey 2027 starting to move me
Raya -> Brobbey will break football. Does mean we need a runner at LW + a dynamic 10 (Rogers would've been ideal) to fully optimize this GK to CF duo

The best, most lucrative league in world football. A league where the margins are tighter than they have ever been before
And on the same day they make 2 of the worst decisions that can impact who wins the title
1 - Ballard Judo roll on Konsa. Should be a foul for Arsenal but instead given as a penalty for Sunderland
2 - Haaland clear offside
How can you be so bad even with VAR?

Its funny how all these commentators and pundits are ducking away from the fact that it was Ballard who pulled Konsa over. Mad respect to Martin Keown for actually speaking the truth
The Ballard-Konsa incident was a foul for Arsenal not a penalty for Sunderland

That Tzolis assist doesn’t look flashy but that’s the definition of ‘technical empathy’ the pass literally begged for the shot.

The best analogy I've come up with to explain Super-Intelligence (SI) to people who aren't well versed in the topic is this
Humans are to an SI what a dog is to a human
The dog cannot comprehend a human's intelligence. A human cannot comprehend an SI's intelligence
China being in the fold is probably biggest reason why the US companies are in a mad race to the finish line, which is understandable (If I has to choose, I'd hope its Anthropic who wins, they seem the most reasonable and human bunch of all)
However there has been no time more important in the history of humanity than now, to come together and figure out a collaborative solution
The moment we're not the alpha species anymore, we're fucked. Think about what we do to animals when they start spreading a disease (chicken flu, swine flu, etc) - which has negative repercussions on the alpha species (humans) and the planet in general. We kill them all. En masse. Without a single thought
Now answer this question - Which species do you think causes the most harm to the planet and will be the biggest adversary to a new alpha species? (You're right its us HUMANS)
Evan can’t know the percentage likelihood that AI will kill all humans within the next decade - no-one can know it. It’s not a number that can be estimated.
However, the risk is certainly very real and what Jacob outlines (the post that Evan quotes) is all true too.
But you want someone like Evan to perceive the risk as being high because his job is to make AI’s values align with human values. If he perceived the risk as low, it would actually increase the risk (and vice versa).
I’ve spent time on this topic with leaders at US-based AI companies. They all perceive the risk of ASI (artificial superintelligence) to the world “as grave as can be”.
The risk manifests when an AI is sufficiently advanced that it can develop itself better than humans could, and it experiences recursive improvement. i.e., it makes itself smarter at an accelerating rate. Once this happens, it becomes superintelligent and can do whatever it wants. If its values are not aligned with humanity’s, then it poses an existential risk.
They also fear what other (less responsible) labs might create, especially in China. And this fear drives their agenda just as much, if not more, than commercial gain. That’s because many within the AI sector also believe that AI and robotics will end capitalism as we know it and fundamentally change the world within a relatively short span of time. Economic models have to change if all current human tasks can be done better and at lower cost by AI and robots.
The reality is that AI, along with robotics and automation, could end human life and certainly will fundamentally change human life.
If you believe in democracy, then this should not be left solely in the hands of private individuals.
There are currently 10-11 frontier labs that have the potential to achieve this. 4 in China and 6-7 US-controlled (not all based in the US - there’s one in the UK and one in Israel).
The leaders of those labs (and the companies that control them) and the leaders of the countries they are based in should be holding a joint summit with the primary purpose being alignment.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Bahoya is much better than Fofana. He was also available on a loan + obligation for less money than Fofana
This is the guy we should've been in for on deadline day. Im sure we could've also converted the obligation into an option by offering a higher transfer fee dowm the line
