The Tampa Bay Rays host game three of the World Series tonight, just over two years after Hurricane Milton destroyed the roof at Tropicana Field. For the 2025 season, the Rays had to play outdoors at Steinbrenner Field during Florida's rainy season. With the help of an onsite Weatherstem station and access to an on call meteorologist, the Rays managed to navigate the season without a single rainout. Gusty onshore winds combined with the king tides have pushed water and debris close to the dunes in Delray Beach. Winds at this station have gusted as high as 49 mph and moderate coastal flooding is being reported. The system off of the East Coast that has been causing the high surf this week has now been designated Subtropical Storm Josephine. The good news is it will move away from the US but elevated surf conditions will continue through most of the week.
