The Tampa Bay Rays host game three of the World Series tonight, just over two years after Hurricane Milton destroyed the roof at Tropicana Field. For the 2025 season, the Rays had to play outdoors at Steinbrenner Field during Florida's rainy season. With the help of an onsite Weatherstem station and access to an on call meteorologist, the Rays managed to navigate the season without a single rainout. Gusty onshore winds combined with the king tides have pushed water and debris close to the dunes in Delray Beach. Winds at this station have gusted as high as 49 mph and moderate coastal flooding is being reported. These conditions will continue through Wednesday. #kingtides #coastalflooding @NWSMiami @Paul_Goodloe @JimCantore

Gusty, onshore winds will continue on the east coast of Florida this weekend and into next week, bringing rough surf and a high risk for rip currents. In addition, the combination of these onshore winds and king tides will lead to a coastal flooding threat. #ripcurrentrisk #kindtides

High surf advisories are in effect along Florida’s entire east coast, and views from several of Weatherstem’s coastal stations show just how rough conditions are today. High surf and hazardous beach conditions are expected to persist well into the workweek as a low-pressure system spins off the East Coast.

Thanks in part to Hurricane Isaias, drought across Florida is at its lowest level in more than a year, with only 25% of the state in moderate or severe drought. The Panhandle is now completely drought-free, and Weatherstem stations captured the storm’s rainfall totals across the region. Fort Walton Beach High School recorded 7.69 inches of rain.
