While celebrating the acquisition of "This Is MY Voice" by the state Museum Francisco Carolinum in Austria, I want to bring your attention back to another pillar of my artistic work: GYPSY DREAM.
Both projects share a central thread: using fine art photography to confront systemic bias, explore female identity, and give presence to voices and lives that are often kept quiet, reduced, or misunderstood.
Where "This Is MY Voice" speaks to identity, autonomy, and women's rights, GYPSY DREAM directly challenges the learned stereotypes and implicit bias surrounding Roma identity and marginalization.
Gypsy Dream:
Features women from diverse ethnic backgrounds, nations, and walks of life—including Roma women. No background information, names, or ethnic labels are attached to any subject.
The Question: Without identity tags, can we still project our learned prejudices onto an individual face? Or do we simply meet a universal human gaze?

Big announcement today: my first solo museum exhibit is coming up this June in Linz, Austria.
This art is a weapon. It's an exhibit on resilience, courage, dictatorship, death. It's a reflection on 17 years of me suffocating in abusive relationships with Russia as a political artist.
Being from Russia brings pain. Most of my life, even after 2 years imprisonment following the punk-prayer, I chose to stay in Russia, even though I had plenty of opportunities to immigrate.
I tried to change Russia, make it a country that I would be proud of - peaceful, prosperous, friendly, democratic, loving, a country that values human life, art and happiness.
First with Voina Group, later with Pussy Riot, I've been in performance art since 2007, for 17 long years - years filled with joy of protest and comradery, harassment, arrests. I watched my friends being murdered and revolutions suffocating under Putin’s boot.
The most radical act of rebellion today is to relearn how to dream and to fight for that dream.
