Welsh is the second most spoken language in the UK and a native language to Britain. While this is welcomed news, perhaps the UK government could consider offering the option of Welsh language to students in England.
Proud to announce that students in England will be able to study Ukrainian at GCSE. It’s a chance for pupils to explore Ukraine’s rich culture and history and, for the Ukrainian community to remain connected to their heritage. This is another step in our enduring support for Ukraine as part of the 100 Year Partnership 🇺🇦🇬🇧

Just f*cking build it already. It’s a joke how long we spend talking about national infrastructure projects, wasting time and money in the process, rather than being a nation that just gets on and does stuff!

Wales must be given the powers it needs to succeed. We deserve the same opportunity as Scotland to invest in our future. We will keep fighting for those powers. - Baroness Christine Humphreys

Before the election, Plaid Cymru and now First Minister @RhunapIorwerth led families up the garden path to believe he would deliver them a Wales specific COVID-19 inquiry. It’s shameful how he’s let those families down. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr78…

Ken & Co are showing themselves to be utterly spineless. For years, Welsh Labour called out the ‘real-terms funding cut’ from Westminster, and now? Labour are out of ideas and Plaid don’t have the courage to pull the heavy punches needed to get Wales back on track.

Brexit red tape is holding back British food exporters and driving up costs. Labour must drop its red lines and back joining the single market and a customs union to boost businesses, lower prices and grow our economy.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌍Wales’s international strategy should first and foremost boost economic growth by increasing revenues and employment opportunities for Welsh firms, in Wales. The Wales and Africa Grant Scheme does nothing towards this goal and should be scrapped. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

We need an immigration system that supports our economy, public services and integration - but the Home Secretary’s reforms will undermine that. Meanwhile, the Tories are determined to give us Brexit 2.0. Neither Labour nor the Conservatives are serious parties anymore.

What he said 👇🏼 Plaid seems happy to completely waste Senedd time and tax payers money.
Wales does not need a new Human Rights Act. We do not need yet another layer of statutory duties. We have spent far too long on legislation like this which serves only to make the operation of government more sclerotic and allows a handful of politicians to grandstand.

The Q we need to ask - if we have £2-3Bn (which is what a relief road will cost) is it better to build a road OR: Burns stations/services, Marches line Metro services/stations, Caerphilly-Newport Metro connection, better planning (ONS and Patent Office to City Centre etc)

The Liberal Democrats have outlined our plans on how to tackle the threats from Russia. We need to expand UK shipbuilding, with six new Royal Navy frigates and four new British shipyards to face down future threats.

These people have no shame. They mask themselves as patriots and advocates for law and order, all the while leaders of theirs sit on Kremlin paycheques and get locked up for criminal offences.

The United Kingdom has an unconditional right to defend itself. Any attempt to seize the Falklands by force must be met with resolve. We will stand firmly behind the islanders’ right to self-determination, their security, and their freedom to choose their own future 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇫🇰
Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Israel to support Argentina over the Falklands, The Telegraph can reveal. The Israeli prime minister told diplomats to change his country’s official position and join Buenos Aires in calling for direct talks over the future of the islands. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

Hilarious to see ‘the left’, as Chris describes it here, continue to debate whether having strong financial services is necessary for a modern Western economy. Then again, Welsh Labour did admit to having no idea on the economy when they were last in Government…. 🥀
Really thought provoking when this article begins to talk about the lack of financial services in Wales. Edinburgh & London are notable FS capitals, but probably because they actually have/had a central bank for these kinds of businesses to emerge. As taboo as this is is to say on the left, private capital is still required for the underlying economy to work and flourish by accessing lending and borrowing facilities. "Does this matter? Does it materially damage Welsh business culture? It’s hard to prove a negative, but I’d argue that the absence of a native banking sector militates against a domestic financial and entrepreneurial culture." Hmm. Something in that and something worth exploring.
