“We are very much interested in origin of music. The source of music. The pure sound is something we would very much like to achieve.”
RIP Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk, which truly revolutionized pop music. nytimes.com/2020/05/06/arts/…

Sound impression: 'It Will Become Itself' by @WhaleFall which originated in a single serendipitous improv session held in LA in June 2018.

One thing about this is Gen-Z finally has something to lord over the generation that comes after it, a rite of passage that gives those who lived it a kind of calloused sagacity, like Vietnam for Boomers or poptimism for Millennials

Music is not a sport. There is no point system, there is no rule book. The act of ranking or determining any kind of hierarchy therein is purely subjective & relies on personal discretion & opinion. Whatever resonates with you is best - approval from “experts” is irrelevant.

2018 in review continues with this vibrant & eclectic selection of albums - a sort of musical edgeland where ambient and modern classical minimalism co-exists with acoustic, folk, electronica, post-rock, and shoegaze
