I may have accidentally met Russell Brand once or seventeen times where I inadvertently referred to Brand as a political colossus & mankind's preeminent thinker as he guest edited my magazine, but this sycophantic praise was my way of expressing how much I utterly detested him .

Expertise in public deliberation and linguistic justice at one of our more selective universities, you say? People, we have an expert witness in the making!

Important update. Calm your nerves everyone. Our political theory academic from Durham has revealed his favourite political approach.
I find this a fascinating exchange. A man who claims to be an associate professor in political theory not only canβt engage in outlining his arguments but thinks being asked to defend his position makes us a hive mind/drones. Naturally, he has now blocked replies.

Russell Brand, Jimmy Savile, those men told us exactly who they were while some looked away and pretended they were just lads, or talented, or cute boys. They didnβt hide in plain sight, they operated in plain sight.

Idle curiosity, but has Stonewall ever been asked why 1989-2015 they never mentioned conversion therapy?
All that banging on about S28, and they never once thought to mention all the exorcisms π€·ββοΈ
There is so much in this exchange that is fascinating. Primarily that the witness clearly knows she is talking utter nonsense but feels compelled to say it anyway.
"A pregnant person is a person who is pregnant."
That's the answer the Liberal-appointed head of the PUBLIC HEALTH AGENCY OF CANADA gave when asked to define a term used in her own agency's taxpayer-funded guidance on pregnancy.
When pressed to explain how that differs medically from a pregnant woman, she couldn't give a clear answer.
Our own Public Health Agency can't even clearly define the language it publishes in its public health guidance...or tell Canadians whether a man can get pregnant.
This is what happens when Liberal identity politics take priority over clear communication about biological reality.

5/ If the law allows transactivists to go to the police about βserious alarm or distressβ caused by undefined & inadvertent βabuseβ, they will do so at the drop of a hat. Any law in this area has to be watertight. If we havenβt learnt that, we havenβt learnt anything.>

So @RachelTaylorMP first thing: it's Falkner, not Faulkner. Attention to detail matters.
In the same vein, please explain where in the Bill we can find the "significant safeguards" to protect "legitimate - even challenging - conversations" with parents and faith leaders. Thanks.

In these days of fluid teenage identities, it is ridiculous to think that a parent challenging a teenage's professed sexual orientation might be a criminal act. The Conversion Practices Bill is a menace in more ways than one. Me in the Times β¬οΈ

Jayne Ozanneβs evidence to the #ConversionBill Committee is incredible
π§΅
Like other witnesses in favour, Jayne says itβs βso difficult talking in the abstractβ.
Itβs not difficult for me to know that Iβd go to prison rather than let an 11yr old wear a breast binder.>
Revealing exchange with @NazShahBfd
She asks Ms Ozanne about an 11 year old girl who wants to bind her breasts & her parents refuse to purchase the binder.
βItβs so difficult talking in the abstractβ says Ozanne βI canβt give you a direct answerβ
This is a CRIMINAL law

This will do for the RCN and unions
what the Bristol University case did about student suicides.
A Jolyon esque technical win
that results in a much more significant loss later.
Dear Union members - do not expect them to be there for you.

I cannot believe that people are okay with a grown man saying that young girls will see men's genitalia on the internet anyway, so parents should just accept men in their locker rooms.
What is wrong with us that we decided girls aren't allowed to say NO to being forced to undress beside males against their will?
