Looking back at day 2 of Writers Week 30. Some incredible student writing! #FHSWritersWeek30
Writers Week 30, Day 1, featured the incredibly talented Cristina Henriquez. Her latest novel, The Great Divide, comes out on March 5th. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge. #FHSWritersWeek30
2009 @FremdVikings graduate @smathewss shares from her @nationalbook award finalist work, All This Could Be Different #ww29
We were grateful to have the wonderfully talented @emoenmusic visit #ww29 yesterday!
“Give writing a song a try. I wish I would have had the courage to do it when I was your age.” —@emoenmusic #ww29
“I was always afraid of writing my own words -- afraid I would feel cheesy or sound stupid. I realize how mean that was. I was being my own bully for so long -- afraid of not being cool. then I realized being yourself is the coolest thing you can do.” — @emoenmusic #ww29
“The Whole World is Burning, but all I can think is I love you. -- The song was built out of the duality of feeling at the start of the pandemic. Fear for outside my door but deepest joy with wife and child.” - @kevinprchal #ww29
“Whether you achieve great success or spend a lifetime chasing it, if you hold on to what you love, it will never stop being fun.” - @kevinprchal #ww29

There will never be a better photo of me taken ever. This is my entire spirit and identity in a single image. (Photo by @fmohyu) Thanks to @FremdVikings for having me this week for my third visit to Writers Week!
ALT A photo of Mark masked and in a beanie, speaking into a microphone on a stage, while approaching someone in the audience. In the background, projected on a screen, is the image of SpongeBob screaming, his face pulled back as if he’s traveling at a high rate of speed.

Honored to have been able to talk to High School students today about my book, my writing journey, and the value of being vulnerable with oneself. @WritersWeekFHS
