✨️ Samsung camera fix 👇
To make any hardware upgrade shine, Samsung needs to ditch Stock camera — not the Camera UI.
Problem:
1️⃣ Stock camera = heavy processing, fake detail.
2️⃣ Pro RAW = pure sensor, but single frame = noisy & moiré mess. Editing just kills more detail.
3️⃣ Default output stuck at 12MP.
4️⃣ Expert RAW (OneUI 7) was the sweet spot: multi-frame RAW stacking + higher bit depth → cleaner shadows, natural texture, ND-like HDR.
5️⃣ OneUI 8 broke it. Expert RAW now feels closer to stock → more noise, less natural texture, HDR not the same. The unique look is gone.
✨️Solution (simple):
• Make Expert RAW the default stock pipeline with 24MP default output.
• Extend Virtual Aperture to all lenses → fully replace Portrait mode.
• Upgrade Pro RAW with burst stacking (option) to cut noise & moiré.
• Add Fast Capture mode.
• Add Long-Range zoom mode.
● Explanation:
Expert RAW today is capped at 20x.
So Samsung should split stock cam into sections:
🔹 0.6x–20x → Expert RAW pipeline
(multi-frame, natural HDR, ND-like look).
– Auto point-and-shoot (RAW/HEIC/JPEG)
– All manual controls & Expert RAW features → this becomes the true stock camera.
🔹 20x–100x → Long-Range section
(stacked telephoto + optional AI assist: medium, maximum, etc.).
Fast Capture Mode:
• Motion Shot for moving subjects
• Fast “old Portrait” option for quick snaps
(yes, quality drops a bit, but it’s fast).
• Pro Mode RAW for pure RAW
✨️Result?
📸 Point-and-shoot users → natural, sharp photos every time.
🎨 Pro users → real 16-bit RAW, manual control in one app, pure RAW option still there.
🔭 Telephoto lovers → usable long-range shots without cartoon zoom.
📷 Portrait → taken to the next level with Virtual Aperture, while the old Portrait mode reserved for fast capture.
Samsung already had the formula on S25 Ultra Expert RAW (OneUI 7).
They just need to bring it back & make it standard.
✨️Conclusion:
Samsung fix is simple 👇
Stock cam = overprocessed
Pro RAW = noisy & moiré mess
Expert RAW on S25U OneUI 7 was perfect, natural texture, ND-like HDR, minimal noise. Then OneUI 8 ruined it.
Solution?
Make Expert RAW the stock pipeline, extend Virtual Aperture to all lenses, add Long-Range mode, Fast Capture mode & stacked Pro RAW.

Spent a bit more time in @Blender trying to do a product vis shot of the Samsung S27 Ultra in 4 colours with a better transition than the last one.
Also tried adding a privacy display demo to the notification at the top, but it didn't quite work out as planned.
Using the leaked One Ui 9.5 update screen seemed like a good idea at the time to make it more of a genuine concept reproduction but in hindsight, a standard Samsung wallpaper would've worked better.
All fun and games.
If you use #Blender or work on product vis - feel free to send me some tips.
@OTOY's OCtane is also a LOT easier to use than Cycles, but maybe that's because I'm used to it.

BREAKING!A shocking new discovery about the iPhone Duo's foldable display!
According to Weibo user Kang, the screen around the iPhone Duo's crease is surprisingly SOFT to the touch. When pressed with a finger, the surface can even develop visible WRINKLES!
This is something we've never seen mentioned in previous reviews of foldable phones.
Even more interesting, Kang claims this behavior is common across multiple units.
Could this be related to Apple's rumored variable-thickness ultra-thin glass (UTG), with a thinner central folding region and thicker surrounding areas?
If so, Apple may have adopted a radically different approach to managing stress around the fold.
The engineering behind this display could be far more interesting than we initially thought.

If Samsung uses Exynos but lacks a telephoto camera upgrade on the S27 Ultra, what benefit do real users get; if Samsung uses Exynos to control the price, they should upgrade the camera.
A simple 10x daylight Auto-mode test shows why Auto doesn’t always bring out the best from a camera sensor.
Yes, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra has a huge hardware advantage here: a dedicated 10x optical telephoto vs. the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s digital 10x using its 5x telephoto, an aging sensor technology that is among the oldest still used in the flagship market.
OPPO shows slightly more detail, but this is nowhere near the best its 10x can do.
That’s why Auto mode tells you very little about what a camera system is truly capable of.
The 10x optical telephoto can deliver much more with XPan, Hasselblad, or Master mode.
NOT Auto.
And for Samsung? Software is doing a lot of the heavy lifting to keep this aging telephoto competitive.

Relying on Auto mode without making even a basic EV adjustment will rarely give you the best result no matter how good the camera or sensor is.
Here’s a real example at 1× with the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and Galaxy S26 Ultra:
A- S26 Ultra Expert RAW + Virtual Reflector JPEG, straight out of camera
B- S26 UltraExpert RAW + Virtual Reflector RAW, edited
C- OPPO Find X9 Ultra Auto mode
D- S26 Ultra Auto mode
The sensor matters. But how you use the camera matters too.

A lot of people habe been hating on Samsung for the Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra and claiming how superior the IPhone Duo is - without it even being available for full reviews yet...
It'll be interesting to see if the release is a smoother experience than the 18 Pro and Pro Max have had.
And Apple’s site suggests buying an Apple Pencil with the Duo when you register to pre order - but we still haven't seen the pencil actually working with the Duo yet 🤔
If the Apple Pencil support is another Apple Intelligence blunder - is that deal breaker for you? 🤔
