The killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai on January 19, 2010, became the most thoroughly filmed intelligence operation in modern history, because the hotel had cameras and the operatives did not account for them.
Al-Mabhouh was a senior Hamas military commander. A team of more than two dozen operatives tracked him to his room at the Al Bustan Rotana hotel, entered it, and killed him in a way meant to resemble death by natural causes. Investigators concluded he had been injected with a paralytic and suffocated.
Dubai police assembled the hotel's surveillance footage into a detailed public timeline. It showed team members in wigs, hats, and tennis gear moving through corridors and lobbies in coordinated shifts, trailing their target and signaling one another. The operation ran with obvious professionalism, and it was captured almost start to finish on camera.
The team traveled on forged and fraudulently obtained passports from Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia. Every one of those governments summoned the Israeli ambassador in protest. Britain and Australia expelled Israeli diplomats over the theft of their citizens' identities.
Every operative left the country before the killing was discovered. None was ever arrested. The hit succeeded and at the same moment handed the world the most complete public record of the tradecraft involved that any service has ever suffered.

.@erobert_lyman. 2/2 Britain is not especially large, and is currently bankrupt. Why would it borrow and tax more for a war of choice 1500 miles away, against a corrupt, decrepit ex-power which has no great intrest in us?

1. Britain is a large country with a tiny army, not the other way round. In case you haven’t noticed, our defences are currently smaller than a fig leaf.
2. CGS is being sensible in warning that Britain, as part of NATO, needs to be ready for war. We have a dangerous conflagration on our borders. Wildfires have a habit of spreading.
3. No British general is advocating war or making policy. This is a silly straw man. In fact, it’s daft. If you really think that the MOD has any power look at how little they’re received in funding rounds since 1990.
4. Ukraine was invaded by Russia in 2022, with the first seizure of its sovereign territory in Crimea in 2014. Ukraine may have its faults, but it didn’t invite invasion. Nor is it responsible for the daily death of its citizens: Russia is, wholly and completely.
5. Britain is 100% right to support the sovereignty of a country that has been egregiously attacked by its neighbour.
6. Our friendship with the USSR from June 1941 was political and pragmatic; to defeat Hitler.
7. Russia is not ‘mysteriously our enemy’. It’s pretty clear why it is our enemy, with its aggrandising attitude to Ukraine and its relentless prosecution of an unnecessary war.
But you know all these arguments, and will stand blithely by your own.

We formally put Vanity Fair and Condé Nast on notice regarding the false and defamatory allegations published about our client, Jared Kushner.
Serious questions are now being raised about the credibility of this reporting, including by independent journalists.
Despite repeated requests, the author has failed to produce a single bank statement, wire transfer record, account number, or other verifiable evidence supporting these extraordinary accusations.
We have seen no indication that Vanity Fair conducted any independent verification of these claims before publishing them.
We call on Vanity Fair to clarify publicly whether it independently verified these allegations and, if so, what evidence supports them. Or did it simply republish the author’s claims without conducting its own fact-checking?
We have demanded that Vanity Fair remove the article and preserve all records relating to its reporting, fact-checking, editorial review, and publication.
Letter attached. More to come.

Good morning fellow frogs, isn't this water getting a tad hot?
When the government said it was buying €600m of surveillance planes and military helicopters from one of the world's most corrupt companies, Airbus, we relaxed in the tepid water
When the government said it was buying €1bn of armoured cars and cannon, we splashed some lukewarm water over our bodies
When the government said it was buying a €250m warship, we blew bubbles through the pleasant water.
When the government said it was giving away our €100m Saab radars to Ukraine, and buying a €500m system, we navigated a yellow duck through the noticeably warm waters, quack, quack.
When we bought a €20m drone system, a €60m sonar system, put out tenders for €20m Nato-aligned uniform, we became a bit less relaxed in the borderline hot water
And today, "military planners" are making recommendations that may cost us €10bn+ in new equipment. Not so pleasant any more, fellow frogs!

Simon Harris and the government are pushing to remove the Triple Lock not for peacekeeping, but to unlock billions in EU-backed debt to funnel straight into the hands of foreign arms dealers.
The timeline says it all: they signed up to the EU loans, approved massive arms contracts, and are now ripping up the law that stops them from using those weapons freely.
All without a Dáil debate or your consent.
You and your children will be paying the interest to bondholders for decades so European weapons manufacturers can get rich.
Neutrality sold to the highest bidder.

Part 1: The €150 Billion European Loan and the Bondholders
To understand the dismantling of the Triple Lock, you must first understand the financial architecture that makes it necessary. It begins with the European Union’s pivot to a war economy.
In July 2025, the EU advanced the SAFE Regulation (Security Action for Europe).
This is the financial engine of this entire operation. The SAFE Regulation was designed to strengthen the European defence industrial base by offering a staggering €150 billion in loans to Member States for urgent defence investments.
How is a €150 billion loan generated?
Through sovereign bonds. The European Union, acting on behalf of its member states, including Ireland, issues bonds to private investors, hedge funds, and institutional wealth managers.
These bondholders give the EU cash up front to build up the continent's military capabilities. In return, the taxpayers of Europe are committed to paying back not just the principal, but decades of compounding interest.
Bondholders get rich off the guaranteed, multi-generational tax revenue of European citizens.
By signing up to these EU defence directives, Ireland’s leaders are committing our proportional share of the national wealth to service a pan-European war debt, locking us into the financial ecosystem of international arms procurement.

🚨Emmanuel Todd: "We must stop LYING about PUTIN and the WAR."

🚨There is an Element of Madness in Our Situation in Europe Emmanuel Todd: “The war in Ukraine is perceived in the West as a Russian invasion of Ukraine, and of course, I admit that it was the Russian army that entered Ukraine. But the historical reality is that the true cause of the conflict is NATO's expansion into Russia, through Ukraine, and the war waged by the Ukrainians themselves, pushed by the West, against the Russians in Donbas. It is absolutely true that, for the Russians, this war is defensive. For me, it is obvious that the Americans and Europeans are the aggressors, since they have come within a thousand kilometers of Moscow. This is the objective situation. What is fascinating is that these aggressors think they are the ones being attacked and that they are forced to defend themselves. There is an element of madness in our situation in Europe.”
🚨 I say that the number of anti-Russian provocations is such that peace continues in Europe because the Russians are calm and have a particular kind of self-control.
🚨I'm saying is that if Germany, I mean, really gets involved in this war and Merz ... well, you really have to listen to the Germans right now.
🚨What I'm afraid of, is that, vaguely, our leaders, the German leaders, the British leaders are telling themselves that as long as the war continues, they are safe. You see, the risk for our leaders.
