Time to stop classifying exercises as "functional" or "non-functional"; functional transfer exists on a continuum and is dependent on individual goals and abilities. Our international consensus paper on the topic is now pre-printed

Prof. Michael Joyner was suspended without pay from the Mayo Clinic for his commentary on COVID-19 and trans issues.
He later sued for contractual and academic freedom violations.
A judge ruled that his case can proceed on 4/5 claims.
The claim he lost?
A finding that Mayo's academic freedom promises are window-dressing and mean nothing.
Really an own goal for Mayo.

If we trust the below findings that the reliability of the emotional dot probe (EDP) task cannot be distinguished from *0*, the implications are serious.
For example: how on Earth did so many researchers find statistical relationships between the EDP & other variables?

The shameful tradition in @JAMA_current continues. Without even pretending to perform a serious systematic review of the evidence, #exercise for the treatment of adult #depression is only mentioned casually, supported by scant evidence, alongside treatments that, in the minds of most physicians, probably evoke placebo or voodoo. How much longer? Does this reflect innocuous ignorance of the evidence or something else?
