Blessed are all who fear the LORD, and walk in his ways! By the labor of your hands you shall eat. You will be blessed and prosper. Your wife like a fruitful vine in the heart of your house; your children like shoots of the olive around your table. Ps 128.

At a brewery in Eugene where a Neutral Milk Hotel cover band from Portland is playing, and it's proving to be the most durable folk music. It just works. You can't go wrong with it.

Unbelievable how powerful these songs are, completely separated from the original artist and cultural context.

It's called "the nod." That subtle gesture of recognition shared between fellow Pennsylvanians when they cross paths in satellite states. You hear some ask for a drink of "wooder" or ask what "keller" of paint, you give The Nod. Yeah bro, I got you, we run this.

I don't know if was intentional or not, but my take away was that Holmes and her husband are con artists who found true love, while Fielder and Seyfried are con artists who have not. I think we could have got that in 30 minutes instead of 3 hours, but it's interesting.

Ladybug Transistor - one of those 60s pop revival bands that were a dime a dozen around 2000, but they left a treasure trove of great music to dive into if like me you didn't pay attention at the time.

That store is notorious for treating customers like that. Here is a screen grab from an earlier interaction with a different customer getting the same treatment. The unspoken rule is you have to deal with the illegally employed minors there.

EXCLUSIVE: Security footage shows Kelly Clarkson's $15,000 mechanical-bird encounter — and what happened on her way out of the tiny Brooklyn shop. Was the singer's "Karen moment" worth the "Pretty Woman" fallout?
