The algorithm is a mathematical approximation of "value."
If you make valuable stuff, all algo changes help you.
One exception: format preferences. Aka - video now gets 2x views etc.

You know that feeling when payday hits and for like ten minutes you’re actually happy? Then you remember rent is due in three days and the joy just… leaves. It’s not even dramatic. It just goes. One second you’re thinking about maybe treating yourself, the next you’re doing math in your head and the treat is already cancelled.
Or when your data finishes on a random Wednesday and you catch yourself hovering over the Wi-Fi settings like something might magically change. You tell yourself you’ll just use it wisely this time. Then you’re refreshing the same three apps out of habit and it’s gone again by evening.

“If the shouting continues, I'll step outside and talk later” tells your partner what you'll do.
You can make the request and still decide to leave the conversation if it isn't respected. You don't have to make them agree before taking that step.

Imagine living next to a noisy neighbour who makes working from home a nightmare. He plays loud music at night and regularly hosts noisy meetings at his apartment. You endure it for years until he eventually moves out.
You later make more money, decide to upgrade your apartment, find a place you love and pay the rent advance.
Then you discover that the same neighbour lives in the new building.
