My 3-year-old informed me this week that my name is Mom. I explained that Funmilayo is the name my parents gave me, he wasn’t interested. As far as he’s concerned, I’m named after what I do for him, and that’s final not what my birth certificate carried. He’s not wrong. The strongest brands in the world got there the same way. Nigerians call any instant noodles “Indomie” and any nappy “Pampers”. Nobody says “search the web." We say “Google it”. Your customers do the same thing, they might never remember the name on your logo, but they’ll remember you as the cake lady who never disappoints or the gas man who always picks up, and that name is earned in every message you send after they pay. None of these brands earned that by repeating their name; they earned it by doing the same job, the same way, so often that the name and the job became one thing. The same applies if you sell a service or an AI product. Your users won’t describe you by your feature list. They’ll describe you by the job you do for them: “the tool that writes my proposals," “the app that sorts my invoices," and “the consultant who fixed our onboarding." That name only sticks if they come back after the first try and that’s where most AI products and service businesses lose people because the sign-up or the first sale isn’t the hard part, what happens next is. A user who gets real value in their first week starts to describe you by the job you do. A user who doesn’t, quietly stops logging in, and you never become anything to them. So the question isn’t “do people know our name?” It’s “what job do our customers think we do, and do we do it often enough that they come back?” What do your clients call you? I’d love to hear it in the comments. #momlife #nigerianmums #branding #customerexperience #funnyparenting

There's a big difference between outfits that look good and outfits that actually work for the person wearing them. In Nigeria, breathable fabrics, comfortable outfits and practical designs should be thought of for seasons like this. Think about someone who has to commute, sit in traffic, attend meetings, and run errands and still look presentable in this heat. The outfit should work with their lifestyle and not make an already uncomfortable day worse. Fashion brands need to pay attention to the environment their customers live in. Climate, movement, comfort and everyday needs should influence product design. Looking good shouldn't require suffering through the day.
It’s time to make breathable everyday wear with fabrics suited to our climate. Nigerians deserve to look good without looking like a walking colour palette or fighting for their lives in the heat.

Nigerians are good people, seh. Nobody gifted her on her husband's coronation because she has no children. The algorithm did its thing and people are showering her with gifts as we speak all over the country and outside the country

From their movies,I discovered it is tradition and I think after birth another family takes over
One of my colleague, Indian, her daughter was getting married and she was talking about her expenses. I was just wondering..... What about the bride and groom? If bride's family is spending all that money, what then is bride, groom and groom's family spending. And the bride and groom are both painfully employed.

Mercy prayers, I don't take lightly! Let mercy speak for me always. What words have you been speaking lately? Do you know your words have the power to stand for or against you? Do you know your words can give room to the enemy but we thank God for his mercies that prevails over judgement

“Why are you ass@ulting me? What did I do?” A young man has accused Nigerian Police officers at a checkpoint in Somolu, Lagos State, of ass@ulting him after he demanded the return of his car documents from the officer.

People spend years working, not always to build the life they want, but simply to maintain the life they already have. You can be hardworking, talented, intelligent, and valuable to society, yet struggle to afford basic necessities.
If I could permanently delete one invention from human history, it would be money. Before money, human survival revolved around community and direct exchange. You had yams, I had fish; we exchanged what we had, and everyone ate. The invention of money didn’t just introduce a new way of trading; it introduced the concept of being broke. It created a system where you have to wake up at 4 a.m., sit in traffic, and spend most of your waking hours working just to afford the basic right to exist on a planet you were already born on. Worse, it gave a select few the power to play God. Because our survival is tied to money, people are forced to bow down, swallow their pride, and worship individuals they would otherwise despise, simply to feed their families. Respect is no longer earned through character; in many cases, it is bought with money. Money has turned human existence into an endless competition. If we erased it, we might lose the convenience of global trade, but we would also eliminate inflation, debt, and the arrogance that often comes with wealth. Perhaps we would finally learn to see one another as equals. Perhaps people could rest when they are tired, rather than waiting until all the bills are paid before they can afford to rest💔
