Yesterday's interview was short ,I wanted to say so much more. My message was clear we cannot continue to warehouse people, out of sight out of mind mentality got us here . Folks who are being placed should be triaged to housing that fits their needs. #grateful to be heard.

Currently, 91% of the kids in care in Manitoba are Indigenous.

Every story that I tell, every person I meet with are affected by colonialism and the residential school system. When Chief Allan Adam was beaten by RCMP in 2020 he shared with me that he is a survivor of Holy Angels Residential School. When I was in Fort Chip last week @geordieday asked me to tell him about Chief Adam, and I got overwhelmed with emotion. Even though we aren’t supposed to be “political” in this work, you can’t help but be when so many of our people have been impacted by trauma and injustice. @ricochet_en @IndigiNewsMedia @TheRealNews

It is a pilot project running in 3 #VancouverBC 🇨🇦neighbourhoods.
Learned that many people who are dealing with #homelessness have dealt with #Trauma in their lives.
