New paper from @SujeetKumar_LSU and co, finally finding the OM clamp for one of the non-TamB AsmA-like proteins! If we could just do all vs. all cell envelope proteins in AF2 I wonder what else we would discover

This is insanely cool. Rendering protein/cell scenes and tomograms using Unreal Engine 5 so you can display more with less GPU overheads and control a character to fly through them!

More than proud to see our work on SlyB out in press
@Nature!
Who would have thought a small membrane protein could form protective nanodiscs. A big thank you to all collaborators and reviewers.

In our just accepted paper in @angew_chem with @RadfordLab & @naranson in @AstburyCentre we used In-Cell PELDOR/DEER complemented by CryoEM to show the BAM complex adopts a lateral closed conformation in E coli cells in presence of antibiotic darobactin-B: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

I keep going on about it, but it just works so ludicrously well. If you have control over the generation of your secondary structure cartoons, you can do sneaky little reveals like this one 🙈🙉

Today we're making RF Diffusion, our guided diffusion model for protein design with potential applications in medicine, vaccines & advanced materials, free to use. The software has proven much faster and more capable than prior protein design tools.

We’ve got a new preprint addressing a basic question: how much does it cost a bacterium to constantly fire a T6SS? We’ve always assumed it’s expensive, as it’s huge (the width of a cell!), ballistic, and tightly regulated. 1/18

Wow this is some incredible structural biology and an amazing explainer video

We and the @rbolab are excited to present AlphaLink nature.com/articles/s41587-0… a modified version of the AlphaFold2 protein structure prediction algorithm that can directly incorporate experimental residue-residue contact data from crosslinking MS (and potentially other techniques)!
This is so cool, I've been waiting to see someone do this! Going to be great for annotating genomes

Farewell to single-well #smFRET. Our newest story on bioRxiv biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… Great team work led by @HartmannPHY with @KoushikS33, Mathias, @nehagc18, Philipp and @GeorgKrainer. Brief tweetorial and open access software 1/5
It's all connected! How many years I wonder until we discover that everything in the bacterial cell envelope is connected in some kind of mega Envelopome structure.

Great tree-of-life-wide OMP bioinformatics paper and tools from @SluskyLab. The kind of work I've always thought would be really cool to do on today's huge genome databases!
