The DA gets 24% of the vote. The ANC 30%. Mainstream media: The ANC is dead, the DA is a blue wave.

Why don't those independent experts run for elections themselves
🇿🇦Governments of Municipal Unity will fail unless they appoint independent expert capacity to get the job done!🇿🇦

Another thing I think people missed with Rise Mzansi and the point I guess Songezo made is that they ran a very targeted campaign and probably had interest in maybe 2-3 municipalities but really their only interest was getting Lukhona in to Johannesburg and it worked!🤷‍♂️ …he’s in

You people want to drive others to suicide with your misery. There’s no reason people can’t have one weekend a year to ditch responsibility and just fucking enjoy themselves. If your race made you happy, you wouldn’t be such a sour poes on a Sunday morning.
It’s 4am and I’m preparing for a race. Meanwhile, Foncity people are eating, drinking and dancing like there’s no tomorrow. 😭😂 Some lifestyles come with restrictions. My hobbies won’t even allow me to enjoy Foncity properly. 😭😂

After having spent the last 2 years trying to influence the elections through dodgy polling, Gareth is now generously offering his services as a coalition advisor now. I suppose he couldnt do worse as an advisor than he did as a pollster.
Important to also remember the trend in JHB, in the context of Mashaba’s Zille demands. ASA’s JHB campaign a relative failure, decline. Mashaba’s brand is decreasing in JHB. Zille, massive growth. Quite something for the less popular person to demand the most popular step down.

Only an idiot would reason like this. You haven’t gotten than much further, the ANC has vastly regressed & in that regression, someone else has captured the lion’s share & it hasn’t been the DA. Do you not understand numbers?
In 2006 when I led the DA in local govt elections, ANC under Thabo Mbeki won 64% and we got 16%. This week 20 years later ANC won 31% and DA 24% -back then gap was 48 points and now it has narrowed to just 6 or 7. The famous ‘ long haul’ just got a lot shorter

Tony, you will never be anything near Thabo Mbeki’s equal. End.

With ZERO PR seats in all 3 metros and the absence of the popular vote, I would be okay if they sat out of the coalition government and focused on being an effective opposition and working hard in wards won.
If ANC goes into a coalition with DA in COJ, I am done shem

Nansi i-Secretary General.
[WATCH] Mdumiseni Ntuli says the ANC NEC must use the party’s second consecutive electoral decline as an opportunity for honest introspection. He says a frank discussion is needed about whether the party has lived up to its responsibilities, adding that the conversation must focus on accountability rather than blame. #Newzroom405 #Vote26 #LGE2026

Oh my goodness, what a terrible take and such entitlement. DA should’ve ensured they convinced 50+1 to vote for them. If her true intent is improve the lives of Joburgers, then she should be able to negotiate a coalition that has those interests. She is entitled that seat!

3. Denying Helen the position of mayor is legally permissible but would violate the substantive intent of our democracy. How can the biggest party be excluded? We should therefore try and avoid it if at all possible? So what are Helen’s options for coalition partners?

Rubbish. 60% of Joburgers indicated they do not want her as mayor. If she can't negotiate and build a coalition, that's her problem

I have no interest in the MKP or the EFF. I am convinced that they are destructive for South Africa. They will enable corruption, enhance state malfunction and result in societal collapse. Any party that enters into alliance with either does not have SA’s interest at heart.

Did you share the same sentiment about the MKP, when they were the biggest party in KZN in the last elections?
