What my wife hears when I try to explain "what's so funny" about the meme I'm laughing at.
Freeway Rick Ross says he made up to $3 million a day selling cocaine. Now he says he owes $1 million to the rapper who took his name.
He was sentenced to life. While he was inside, a former corrections officer started rapping as βRick Rossβ and became one of the biggest rappers in the world.
In the video below, he tells Joe Rogan how he lost his own name.
He was released in 2009 and sued.
βHow would you take my name and not have the decency to ask me first?β
He says the rapper never even admitted it. βHe tells people that he invented the name.β
He lost on timing. The judge dated it from the first time a small radio station outside Miami played the rapperβs record. He had two years to sue.
βI should have filed my lawsuit five days before I got out of jail.β
He says the label had 15 lawyers and spent $1.5 million on the case.
How much did they offer him?
βZero.β
At the time, his mother was in her 80s and about to lose her house over $220,000.
βI probably would have took $220,000.β
Instead, he was ordered to pay their legal fees. The judge put it at about $1 million.
βI owe them a million dollars right now.β
$3 million a day. $220,000 for his momβs house. $1 million owed for his own name.
The case for the rapper: the courts sided with him, and Freeway sued too late. In May 2026, the rapper called him a βcrackheadβ and asked where the $3 million a day ever went.
The case for Freeway: his name was famous long before the rapperβs. He says he would have settled for less than what the label spent on lawyers.
So did the rapper steal Freewayβs name, or did Freeway just lose it in court?

Iβll never forget when Zumaβs buddies at Eskom gave Guptas R659m to βbuyβsubstandard coal Eskom couldnβt use. The Guptas then used that money to plug R600m shortfall in their purchase of Optimum Coal Mine (where Duduzane held a 19% stake) after banks had refused to finance themπ

Republicans lost because the public was told their resources are going to foreign stuff.
In SA, they also convinced the public that the resources are going to foreign stuff.

I just think when a woman actually loves you, she also protects your money. If you have ever heard her say βno babe thatβs expensive, letβs do something else, or we need to save for xyzβ then youβve reached a different stage of partnership.

The issue isnβt you guys thinking you were hired on merit. Itβs that you guys donβt realise that WYT owned firms wouldnβt hire YOU based on merit, they always had & always planned to hire on race
Thatβs the actual success of BEE
