I hope they have dark mode. The ones at Dzorwulu are more harmful at night than useful

I am yet to see an electronic billboard in this country that isn't blinding, almost to the point of inducing migraines.

Metropolitan assemblies. District assemblies. Municipal assemblies.
And yet the apparent solution is to push responsibility aside and punish individual businesses that already pay tax to fund the very government institutions that are failing to do their job.

@edycradio I have personally driven from the office to my home in Cocody several times without switching on my headlights, only to realise upon arriving home that they were off. That is how well lit the roads are, with clear road markings and visible signage throughout the district.
Beyond this infrastructure, drivers are even warned before fines are eventually imposed through traffic enforcement cameras.
Effective road safety is not just about imposing fines, it is about investing in infrastructure, educating drivers and prioritising compliance over punishment.

Government is the richest and most powerful entity in the state.
Are you saying that this government can’t roll out Traffitech while fixing streetlights and traffic lights at the same time? Really?

This has been my issue with some of the commentary I keep seeing.
“Oh the government can start from somewhere”.
Once we start behaving like the government can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, we are making excuses for them.

No.
The state can ensure order holistically.
It is a powerful entity.
It cannot choose to maintain order only when it generates massive revenue.
The kid who gets knocked down by a motorbike because there is no zebra crossing also deserves order.

No dog in this fight, but this should be the bare minimum.
Some of you are with women who don't value your relationships because you've stripped them of every opportunity to invest in it too.

At this time, all we can do is call out @vercel @vercel_dev publicly for what I can only describe as gross negligence, willful ignorance, reckless disregard and even possibly complicity.
For months, many financial platforms in Ghana and Nigeria have been facing phishing attacks using sites hosted on your platform.
I've personally made reports and I know that the other organizations have also made reports to you as well, however, these sites remain up till this day.
I've also not received a single email update from you on the status of my report.
I'm not sure what you expect us to do, but this can't continue.
Do a better job.
after reading this extensively and comparing to my daily workflow, these are my personal thoughts :
a lot of software engineers aren't even aware of how much they've lost touch with the systems they're working on.
the llm gives you the speed but that comes at an expense amd that expense cost compounds for any large codebase that keeps adding features without proper intent.
unless it's a throwaway project, headless speed is a false positive and a big code smell.
to still have the critical thinking required to be able to build and maintain code as it evolves at scale, there needs to be a conscious effort to have those skills intact and that doesn't come from the ai psychosis most prevalent in a lot of the workflows of software engineers and general professionals at large.
that means a conscious tradeoff in speed to attain high levels of mental cognition in the system at large. this doesn't mean line by line understanding of every line of code however. the real skill is in the balance which is very hard to convey to the business but that's where the role of engineering leadership comes perfectly into play.
just because an agent can cook that in 10mins doesn't mean it should be done in 10mins. remember that every line of code introduced comes at a long term cost that's not seen immediately and later or current maintainers are definitely going to bear the brunt.
all of this tells me one thing : the agents are here to stay, so does technical ownership.
contrary to what is being preached by these companies for obvious reasons, technical ownership still depends on having a deep root in software fundamentals especially for professional non-throwaway-projects.
in a nutshell, the speed promised by the llm's come at a cost and just ignoring the expense initially can only take you as far. you'll still pay.
technical ownership is much more critical today.

Just the perfect game for the type of person who's entertained by jangling keys. No substance, no vision, no artistic direction just a lot of stuff shoved in it so you can go "oooh look at the pretty thing" without any further thought.
